Wow, what a story. Lately my health has been pretty bad so I'm thinking about buying a smartwatch, but I don't need all the bells and whistles and I'm also not a fan of devices with Bluetooth and WIFI.

As always my medical skepticism applies. We all are going to die. Most of us will die from typical, "boring" reasons, not rare tumor or exotic illnesses. To asses Apple Watch usefulness you can not only count times where it helped. You must also count all instances where it triggered not needed diagnostic procedures and labs that were falsely positive that in turn lead to more invasive diagnostics procedures or treatment that damaged health or killed.
Monitor from other vendor (that is not Apple technology!) plus Apple Watch prevented diabetic coma or death. Apple Watch can not do this alone, so this title is wrong.
