"FDA Approves Apple Watch App Designed to Stop Nightmares

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday gave the green light to a new iOS app designed to reduce "sleep disturbance" in adults who suffer from a nightmare disorder or PTSD.

Dubbed NightWare, the digital therapy uses an Apple Watch and connected iPhone to monitor body movement and heart rate during sleep. When a nightmare is detected (based on motion and pulse), the watch gently vibrates, pulling the user out of their bad dream without awakening them..."

As always my medical skepticism applies. We all are going to die. Most of us will die from typical, "boring" reasons, not rare tumor or exotic illnesses.
To asses Apple Watch usefulness you can not only count times where it helped. You must also count all instances where it triggered not needed diagnostic procedures and labs that were falsely positive that in turn lead to more invasive diagnostics procedures or treatment that damaged health or killed.

Monitor from other vendor (that is not Apple technology!) plus Apple Watch prevented diabetic coma or death. Apple Watch can not do this alone, so this title is wrong.

Non-invasive blood sugar monitoring in Apple Watch Series 8 unlikely and may remain elusive in Apple wearables for years to come

Heart rate monitor is a basic feature of any sport watch. You could buy that at least 15 years ago with not only heart rate monitor, but also additional detection of cardiac arrhythmia.
