On Kubuntu, not yet. Later this evening, I hope.
Perhaps time and energy that go in the snap version are at the expense of the repository version.

please dont go snap, from german firefox forum:

snap is some kind of sandbox, more similar to sandboxie.

They're still working on Firefox snap.
    For instance, see:
    https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2022/07/firefox-snap-significant-startup-improvements

When it's time to upgrade to Kubuntu 22.04 LTS, that has Firefox snap, I will see if it's OK.

Firefox for snap is from Mozilla directly. but i dont see any word from you testing the original linux release from mozilla as you are still waiting for the update from stupid package.

That is correct. I do not intend to use the Mozilla team PPA or the Mozilla binary for Linux if there is no absolute need to.
It would be great if the Ubuntu repository version for Firefox 102.0.1 was offered, but if for some reason they don't, it's not a real problem to me, I'll get those non-security fixes later.

Another two days later, I must reject that hypothesis.
In Firefox 102.0 (still no update to 102.0.1 on Kubuntu), with 'Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed' not checked as of the bug in 102.0, several days later, again I saw Firefox hang/ freeze.
I'd still need 102.0.1 to see if the "Various stability fixes" fix that tendency to hang/ freeze.
If not, then I must look at Adblock Plus and VT4Browsers Virus Total browser extension, that were updated the same day and a couple of days later than Firefox 102.0. As it can take several days for Firefox to hang/ freeze, it's not as simple as disabling those extensions for a couple of minutes.
If Canonical's Firefox team was so kind to offer 102.0.1 then I could be getting somewhere. No idea why 102.0.1 isn't offered.
Before you say that I should test the Mozilla team PPA or the Mozilla binary for Linux, or disable my extensions, I think that's too much of a hassle for the relatively minor issue. Therefore I prefer to wait, for now.

I found reports of other Linux users mentioning Firefox to freeze/ hang.
The issue is reported not only for Firefox 102.0 but for 102.0.1 as well.
    I counted eight reports:

    https://discuss.getsol.us/d/8515-firefox-102-hangs-from-time-to-time
    https://discuss.getsol.us/d/8515-firefox-102-hangs-from-time-to-time/9

    Also interesting:

"I ran it in Troubleshooting mode and the hang still occurred."

    And also:
    https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?p=2199344#p2199344
"Technically, the entire app is not hanging or not responding--just part of it."
"Because it is not technically a crash, there is no crash report from Firefox, and Firefox does not produces logs."

getsol, i dont know but the comments, awful and wrong

    va-api was resolved
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1751363

at least its like SMB wrote - no crash reported, nothing to do.
i did not read only few - do thy use the package or the original mozilla file?

    concerning snap
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1766196

reports like yours may be reason that they did not build 102.0.1 yet. at least for me it says: we dont have any clue so we sit back and wait.

what i read that far, MINT and (K)Ubuntu concerned only?
could be an Ubuntu only related issue.

did not try the original file from mozilla? than there is nothing you can do. except:
mozregression tool, if you dare. and feedback to bugzilla only.
and in hardly miss within all that reports here and also there a feedback from those to bugzilla. bugzilla is the only option to report failure or problems, mozilla do not read any other forums. mozilla cant change anything if it is not reported at bugzilla. very simple, but working. and currently there exist no topic for "ubuntu firefox hang" or "mint firefox hangs" (example strings).

    Thank you, @Brummelchen,
I didn't know mozregression, interesting tool.
And of course, to file a bug report in Bugzilla would be best.
However, with a bug that is not easy to reproduce (can take days), no experience in bug writing, and a demanding bug writing guideline, filing in Bugzilla seems quite the task. I can imagine that others like me are hesitant to file in Bugzilla, don't get beyond posting at the forum they know, and wait for someone more experienced to act. :doubt:

Also, I cannot rule out that one of the recent Linux updates may be responsible for the Firefox freezes/ hangs.
For Kubunu, I had a look at all July 4, 5 and 7 updates. Being no expert, I couldn't see a link with the Firefox issue, but I cannot rule it out either.
I hope someone better equipped notices the issue, Ubuntu developers perhaps.
    For me, this ends here.

I've been running 103.0 since it went RC last week. It seems mostly ok though it did freeze on me yesterday and I had to kill it from Task Manage. No other software does that on this laptop. Ever. So I'm not sure what the issue is.

i grabbed the RC1 = final release (there was no rc2) also some days ago. but i dont have any issue, this is currently 105_nightly which runs very smooth.

if firefox freezes you can be sure that it is caused 99.99% from external software.

i dont know about your hardware, driver stand or security software. this is pure windows 10 with defender and up-to-date drivers.

the problem is that freezes dont create a crash report nor a report for windows. so you are sticked to use mozregression to trial out the stages between 102.0.1 and 103.0 and mark good or bad for its processing.
