Sandboxie-Plus v1.2.1,v1.2.2,v1.2.3

What happened to "the other" gui, now there is just one that can be opened, Global settings. The other one can`t.

 

Everything is fine.

 

That page also shows a (newer) 64-bit v1.2.1 installer.
What is the difference between the newer v1.2.1 and v1.2.2?

Hi David, getting lots of errors with the last 2 builds.

Win10, 21H2 latest, Chrome latest.

I hid a bunch of other errors, but capped these 2 after upgrading to Classic x 64 5.57.2.

 

Note: the installer is not signed for 1.2.3 prerelease

So just to clarify 5.57.0 was fine?
and 5.57.1 not?
Because 5.57.2 and 5.57.3 only change things with regatd to teh sandman ui so for what its worth the calssic builds are identical but the version number

Yes, I only started seeing this at 5.57.1.

Might not be SB related, also did a windows update in there.

Can you tell me what those errors mean? I will investigate further.

edit: I just upgraded to 5.57.3 and got this upon starting chrome.

 

the errors mean that soem functions in variouse dll's could not be hooked
if you rol back to an older sandboxie build does it work fine again?

 

As I wrote in my previous post (#20) : « Since the update [to v1.21], I am no longer able to delete the content of any sandbox, nor am I able to explore its content.»

 

I just tested v1.2.2 and v1.2.3.

I get the same issue with both versions : I can't start any of my browsers in Sandboxie (Brave as default, and Firefox).

Rolling back to v1.2.1 resolves this issue, but since I already reported another issue with v.1.2.1 (see last paragrapph of my post #20), I finally rolled back to v1.2.0 in order to have a functional Sandboxie-Plus on my system.

I've never tried rolling back actually, good tip. I'll try and report back. I assume I can just do an "upgrade" to an older version?

This is very very strange (the non UI related issues) between 1.2.0 and 1.2.1-1.2.3 only one minor thing changed in the core components, and that was a rollback to previouse behaviore to resolve issue #2006 no idea why those apps fail to start on your system witn 1.2.1 and later while work with 1.2.0

Appears to not have these issues after the rollback. I went back to 5.56.3 to be positive about it.

What is changing in the classic in these updates? I'm mulling a switch to the Plus but I like the simplicity of Classic.

If there was a difference in the base security offered that would make me switch over pretty quick. Thank you for the help.

 

well 5.57.0 changes the hooking mechanism to fix this issue: https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/issues/1243
seams that for your the change causes issues, now we need to find out why it works for others

are you using any other security software?

 

Do you mean the file «Templates.ini » that I found in C: > Program Files > Sandboxie-Plus? This is the only .ini file I could find in this directory. If this is what you are looking for, well... it appears that this website won't let me upload the file! Here is the error message that I get:




If this is not the file that you need, please let me know its exact location so I can send it to you. (In a way that the .ini file will not get blocked!)

 

The Sandboxie configuration is usually located in C:\Windows\Sandboxie.ini
