I do not use a VPN so I will be watching to see what others say in response to your question. My internet surfing has been waaay faster with K7 so I would think VPN would also be speedier.

man this is super light. thank you so much as you influenced me to give it a try again after my first bad experience a few years ago with many FPs. I got 0 FPs now and the price is very low.

Aloha from Dubai. Going to Maldives on my birthday soon :isay:

Happy birthday! Take along your SCUBA gear. Sadly, the island nation of Maldives is very endangered by rising sea levels.

This thread deals with K7 antivirus. There is no "Infinity" version of K7.

Please give more detailed description of the information you are looking for. We will be happy to try and help you find the correct place for getting more information about "infiniti edition."

Oi vey! I checked & failed to read the black letters on the blue background. To me it read, K7 Ultimate Security" -- no infiniti.

As to question by @I3rYcE -- when does it expire? At risk of further goofing up, I would say that purchase of a 1 year subscription would expire at the end of one year. A 2-year subscription would extend at the end of 2 years. Etc etc etc. Or am I over-simplifying?

I use K7 AV Premium. As to the additional bells & whistles in the infiniti version, I have never checked. I wonder what they are?

(As to automobiles, there is the Nissan Infiniti. If well maintained & garaged, an Infiniti usually doesn't expire until well over 175,000 miles or so.)

It's a lifetime subscription, but it's not clear how long they consider a "lifetime" to be.
@I3rYcE I suggest you ask K7 via the online chat on their website and they should be able to give you an answer.

Too true. Is it the user's lifetime (as would be supposed) or the company's lifetime?

IMO, lifetime offers sometimes make a bit of economic sense for a newly established company, but less so for a mature company like K7. Also, I would have to use that K7 version for 14 years or so to amortize its lifetime price.

Well the website says the following.
Since they say it supports Windows 11. I presume that means that the license lasts until Microsoft ends support for Windows 11.

I think it will support all upcoming windows too. It is their master product and I have suggested many friends.

In India, we are getting it at only USD 40 / 5 Pcs / Lifetime.

They didn't give me a correct answer. I think the key is valid until 2025. K7 recognises windows 11 as 10 which means you can use this software until 2025.

thats a wrong definition of "lifetime" that k7 would make us believe.
if they tie "lifetime" to the supported operating system that can do it, but that's not "lifetime" as anywhere used. "lifetime" means (also for me) as long a product need activation and activation can be performed, whether its win8/win10/win11 or newer.
(my lifetime license for sandboxie is worth nothing, i can enter it but activation is not possible, so lifetime has ended)
btw under some circumstances one or two windows 10 editions get updates until 2028/2029. so tying "lifetime" to windows 10 is not proper said. i have doubt that k7 will last until 2029.

The only crystal clear answer (about the exact lifetime length) can come from K7. So maybe you could email the support if the chat answer wasn't helpful (detailed enough).

You don't have buy a license every year. You just have to pay again in 2026.

I stayed away from "lifetime" subscriptions even when I was young enough that they might make sense. Reasons:
1- A "lifetime" app that's top-tier today might NOT be top-tier a few years from now -- better apps may come along.
2- A "lifetime" app may lose its mojo, or it may be bought out by the G monster or the N monster (et alia).
3- I enjoy switching security apps around every so often. (Doesn't everyone?)

i do not, i use same software for years now, and i dont not spend money on yearly subscriptions for nuts.

    whats "g-monster" or "n-monster"?

from my view - "lifetime" license means making more money now than later, no one knows how long the paid software lasts. yearly (or monthly) subscriptions will push development for a longer period.

eg. i paid for sandboxie "lifetime" which was in comparison with the subscription much cheaper, i have lifetime for malwarebytes (i never really used) and for another used software her which makes sense for me. i donated for gorhills ublock and paid a lot of other devs a "coffee". (eg. mp3tag).

ofc the answer is in it: "lifetime"

    open
    https://www.k7computing.com/in/home-users/ultimate-security
    clicking "LifetTime" send you here:
    https://www.k7computing.com/infiniti/
and thats all we wrote - "lifetime" means forever as long the product activation is possible. (or they revoke the lifetime license for reason.

if our answers and their answer do not satisfy you, then dont buy a license, simple as that. it does not help to ask over and over again when all things were said.

Is k7 strong enought for a good protection ? I know it's a very light product, it's importrant but is it effective against ransomwares ?

Yes, K7 offers protection against ransomeware. Further, I image my computer's main drive 3 times weekly so a fix to any malware (including ransomeware) is just a 10-15 minutes job to restore a clean image.

I use R-Drive Image -- we are old friends. I suppose my laptop computer and my external hard drive are slower than yours. In any event, I use that 10-15 minutes to have some coffee & relax.

just joking around. any backup software is better that windows system restore which failed enough in the past. i also had (.) aomei backup pro installed, but it did not satisfy me. i do ma backups as ages ago with an ISO file or stick, independent from any driver in windows. and acronis had a lot of issues for this in the past beside the fact it got bloated in the past.

They have set the licenses for something like 10 years internally, but it periodically auto-renews to a later date. You can't see it from the app.
