Hi @Brummelchen No problems. I only say that giveaway page says 'lifetime license' but de program has 1 year license. That's all.
Hi @ Wilders What happens when the Aomei Backupper Pro (Free Offer) expires? Does it revert to the free version or become unusable if one chooses not to upgrade? Thanks Terry
Hi @ roger_m & Brummelchen Thanks for that. Now on a similar vein what happens if I create a series of backups Full to differential. When the licence expires? I ask this question because in the pro version Differential backups are permitted. In the free version they are not. So If the offer reverts back to the free version and I have created Differential backups in the Pro version can the Differentials be restored from the free version? Thanks Terry
The most important question is does license has expiry date at all? I still use some other backup software from other vendor that I got for free 2 or 3 years ago. It does not expired. The only thing that was different compared to paid product are lack of right to tech support, and lack of right to discounts for newer version of software. I think this is how it should work. I do think that the point of giveaways is to give away paid version of the product, not a trial. On the other hand it may be a good question what if paid backup product license has expiry date. Does offline backup product license (for particular version) should have license expiry dates at all?
Hi You asked a very good question - which has intrigued me for a long time. I have AOMEI Backupper from this promotion, and I also wonder what will happen after a year of use. Surely the program will go to the free version. As a bootable medium I have set it to start when loading Windows - just like in the picture I know the free version can't turn this option on / off - it just isn't there. In my opinion, it will be a free version not so limited. But that's my opinion
