I agree, it shouldn't become too complex, but the current design is a mess, it should also look a bit more like a true AV. But I guess we can always use a tool like DefenderUI.

Probably true for the audience it is intended for. But it is the thing that will keep me buying other products.

 

Hoping it will finally run in a sandbox. Announced more than 3 years ago, but still not default and no news since original announcement:
