Everyone has different tastes as to what is good viewing, as far as Netflix goes I can find enough to enjoy a couple times a week, 2 or 3 hours at a time. There is no way though that I could find enough content to watch every night. What's really horrible are the 4 major US networks, 99% of the shows on there are total crap, there might be 2 or 3 shows a year I can stomach on them. Good thing its hockey season, without the 5 or 6 games a week I watch I would be bored stiff at night.
I'm sorry but I think this is a poor comparison. My point is that SD looks like crap on flatscreen TV's so when it comes to picture quality, HD should be standard, both on cable TV and streaming. If they want to charge extra for 4K and 8K I can somewhat understand this. But HD should be the minimum quality. Yes, over here in Holland cable TV is also crap. That's why I'm a bit frustrated that I can't find all of my favorite content on Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video. Yes they have quite a large database with good movies, but I've already seen them not that long ago, so normally it will take a few years before I get the urge to watch them again. HBO Max will launch in March 2022 in Holland, so let's hope they will offer at least some of my favorite content.
Latest update, I already got bored with Archive 81 after 3 episodes. That's why I'm not really into series, they become boring real quick because most of them are not fast paced. The good news is that Texas Chainsaw Massacre, produced by Netflix was pretty good, but it only had a running time of 73 minutes, that's some lazy movie making. In my view, a movie needs to be at least 85 minutes without credits. And to clarify, the new Texas Chainsaw wasn't as good as the versions of 1994, 2003 and 2006 but they did their best.
You probably thought it sucked? But yeah, it depends on taste. BTW, earlier I talked about Netflix's stockprice, here is an interesting article about tech stocks on Wall Street and how it may become even worse in the coming months. I decided to sell most of my stocks and took a loss of €20.000, but I'm confident I can earn it back. I lost most if it by investing in stocks like Roku, Zoom Video and MercadoLibre. I haven't seen such a heavy crash since 2000 and 2008. https://fortune.com/2022/02/21/second-tech-stocks-rout-covid-pandemic-meta-fb-pypl-nflx-faang/
OK I see, I'm actually a big horror and thriller fan. That's why I do have to give Netflix some credit because I was finally able to see Child's Play 2 and 3 after 20 years or so. I like those movies so much that I watched them twice in the last 6 months LOL. And the new IT (2017) was a bit of a disappointment, the original IT (1990) was way better.
Yeah, no. There could be a fine chica down there in that sewer, but if I see a red balloon I'm running in the opposite direction!

Do you also not like cheesy horror movies? I recently saw Leprechaun 1 and 2 after 20 years or so, it was so much fun. And Ready or Not was also pretty good. I guess these movies can be seen as horror comedies, doesn't everyone love this stuff? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107387/ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110329/ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7798634/
Netflix is getting on my nerves more and more. They simply do not add the content that I'm looking for, yet they do often add a boatload of old French movies from the 60's. The latest Shattered/Crush movie was also complete crap, the only good thing was the very pretty German blonde. And what's up with movies with double names, just make up your mind already! This stuff should be regulated, it simply should not be allowed to give movies alternative names. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14923008/ BTW, I found this: https://videocide.com/glossary/open-matte/
No they are not. And I forget to mention two other ridiculously bad movies that Netflix recently produced, namely The Bubble and Windfall, complete bore/snore fests. Is this crap where Netflix spends its $17 billion a year on? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13610562/ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15033192/
Well you may have not like them Rasheed but I'm sure many people did ( not me), look at the trash that is on the 4 major American networks now, people actually watch it.
"Netflix shares crater 25% after company reports it lost subscribers for the first time in more than 10 years Shares of Netflix cratered more than 25% on Tuesday after the company reported a loss of 200,000 subscribers during the first quarter..." https://www.cnbc.com/2022/04/19/netflix-nflx-earnings-q1-2022.html
I continue to see an inverse correlation between the monthly subscription fee and the quality of the content provided: When fees increase, content quality decreases. After the most recent subscription fee increase, it's now the worst I've seen yet
Yep... and it's probably the recent fee increase that led to a large number of people dropping subscriptions....
I dodged a bullet, I dumped my Netflix shares when it was at $400. I do believe it will eventually bounce back but on the other hand, other stocks that I lost €20.000 on like Roku, Zoom Video, Shopify and MercadoLibre are still at 52 week lows. I think Zoom, Roku and Shopify are takeover targets, that's the only thing that can save them on the stock market.
I would advice Netflix to stop creating so much crap and focus on quality. And also focus more on offering older movies, perhaps they should buy Paramount+ and FuboTV. They should offer live sports, I'm not so sure about ads, it may work but they shouldn't be as annoying as on YouTube. Yes of course it's all subjective. But my biggest complaint about Netflix is that they don't add the content that I'm looking for. I made a list of about 2000 movies that I want to see, and Netflix offers about 300 of them. To clarify, we were talking about movies produced by Netflix. The Contractor is developed by some other company. BTW, HBO Max is a disaster too, The Matrix 4 and The Batman (2022) are complete garbage made by untalented people. Movies of the 80's and 90's were the real deal.
And I forget to mention that Netflix should totally crackdown on password sharing! It's ridiculous that 100 million people aren't paying, very bad for shareholders. And BTW, good to see that crap like Archive 81 has been cancelled, see link. And I have also read that Netflix pays $30 million per episode for the 4th season of Stranger Things, what a joke! https://deadline.com/2022/03/archiv...n-mamoudou-athie-and-dina-shihabi-1234986278/
BTW, to give some more info, the website JustWatch has a database of all movies that are available to license in every country. For example, in The Netherlands there are about 4000 horror and 2600 sci-fi movies available. Probably around 15% are worth watching, so about 1000 movies. But in the last 4 years or so, Netflix has only offered around 100 of them. That's why I get angry when I see how much crap they are adding every month, including Netflix Originals, the crap they produce themselves. If I have to rent all of those movies by pay per view on Amazon or Google, it will cost me too much. I also hate it that they require you to watch those movies within 48 hours. I would gladly pay around €15 or even €20 a month to get my hands on more of those classic movies on Netflix and Prime Video. https://www.justwatch.com/nl/movies?genres=hrr https://www.justwatch.com/nl/movies?genres=scf
And BTW, now that I'm using a VPN on my router, I can see the US version of Netflix, and it isn't that good either. It does have a few good movies that are not available in Holland, but I noticed that free streaming services like Plex, YouTube and Freevee offer way more interesting movies. So now I'm even more disappointed in Netflix, I think they should really buy another streaming company. I don't think introducing a cheaper ad based subscription is the solution, because I have to say that the ads on Plex and YouTube are annoying. Freevee has implemented it the best, ads are the least annoying with them. So if I was Netflix I would copy them. https://www.justwatch.com/us/provider/freevee-amazon-channel/movies
