This sort of made my day being a dad. Went through this issue when my kids were younger. I didn't resort to jamming, I did think about it though. I was able to control my LAN's internet, but that pesky cell phone data connection was out of my control. Taking their cell phones was my solution (with a lot of wine, no cheese ;) ).

I hope they go easy on the dad.

This supports the argument AGAINST free, untethered Internet access for entire communities.

It does not say how old the kids are. If under 18, it seems the parent had better options available to him - like taking the phones away at midnight.

Can't say for other nations, some parents I know use their providers' parental controls to throttle time and data for the cellular network and the Wi-Fi router for that same purpose. Teh intawebuhnezt is rife with info on how to do just that.

One parent I know, when she can't get any cooperation from the brats, simply uses her phone to toggle a parental control on a kid's account whereupon a "mommy has disabled your phone" message pops up. While grounding and withholding allowance threats fail, that method always produces Instant Compliance, says she. I think that's an app.

Anyhow, that French fellow otherwise bought himself a pretty good jammer. The whole town.
