Hi there are several wipe disk , but wiping an 3TB or more hard disk is very slow may softwares do use the mft to recover files do you think wiping the mtf would wipe an hard disk and let it no recoverable ? I'm talking about hard disk , not ssd , and is there a program that can quickly wipe it? avoid please about destroying the hard disk with an hammer thanks
Hi I was sure many programs do use the MFT to recover files and folder like getdataback I guess wipe 1 pass should be enough thanks
Exactly this. If something faster is wanted it depends on your intended use for the disk. If you're disposing of it then there are many means of physical destruction you could use. Hammer, large caliber projectile, etc. If it is a mechanical magnetic drive I've seen claims that a strong magnet will not only remove the data but the firmware as well.
Hi may I ask you which software is the faster and with best rusults to recover deleted files ? is R-Studio isn't ? i remember i have tried an older version and it was so fast (it was enough to double click on a partition to get the list of deleted files ) , and i have tried the new version and was so slow (double click start to scan..) thanks
I've had somewhat good luck with Recuva in the past. Haven't used it lately. O&O recovery tools have worked well for me also. There are better products that are unaffordable.
In our work, we just used double fished via usn stick and then we psychically drilled 3 holes to HDD/SDD.
That would do it. I've also seen plenty of videos where old drives were taken out and shot. No recovery from that. Not for everyone but fun if you're into it.
mantra, I've used "Wipe Entire Drive" in the Partition Work section of IFL. It will take a long time.
