Is it possible to use the arrow-up expression here on the board software or by using sup? If so, how? I mean: You can express it like in 2**4 = 16 (explanation: 2**4 means 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 ) Those two characters * could be replaced by the arrow-up or by using sup. Examples: or
HTML: ↑ Does it work? According to the help file https://www.wilderssecurity.com/help/bb-codes you can use HTML It seems to be ↑ according to https://unicode-table.com/en/2191/ No, it doesn't work.
Jan, and for the arrow-up, you can use an ALT key code: ( ALT + 24 ) ↑ More here: https://fsymbols.com/keyboard/windows/alt-codes/list/
Thanks JR That works too 2↑4=16 PS: sorry for late reply! PS-2: maybe I find using sup a bit more clear
Now you might ask why I started at all talking about that expression. (I could have started a new thread but let's go on here) The reason is the number 65536 65536 = 216 Does that ring any bell? That number 16 maybe? Maybe you knew already about it (of course). Yes, it has to do with computers and software; in particular older ones. Now why all this? It has to do with that number, the covid-19 testing in the Netherlands and the huge back-log in reporting those numbers (some 76000) to the central Health organisation RIVM. In an article at the site of the Dutch Public Broadcaster NOS the question was raised whether that number 76000 had to do with that number 65536. That could have been. Well, now we go to this Wikipedia site: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/65,536 You can read there that, for example, older Excel software cannot read more than 65536 rows in spreadsheets. See why the question was raised? That could have been the explanation. But that seems not be the case (well, let's hope that that is right). Manpower to get the numbers (via three steps (ough)) to the central Health organisation RIVM seems to be the issue. End of story but it gives some insight what using older systems might cause.
