What happens to all the Windows 10 devices that are incompatible with Windows 11 in 2025?

    Third option:

    • Continue to use W.10.

I did this with my W.XP pc from 2014 to 2021 without any problem.

    Already mentioned in article =

"Continuing to use Windows 10 after October 2025 may still be a valid scenario, for instance if the PC is not connected to the Internet, or if the security setup blocks most attacks before they can do any harm."

I'm not even sure I'll be alive by then... I certainly have more important things to deal with, albeit Windows will do just fine, no worries...

Does anyone know where this leads to exactly? It showed up unexpectedly in Settings/Windows Updates.

I'm literally afraid to click on "let's go" to satisfy my curiosity as past experiences have led to circular worm holes going forth and back, back and forth. Can someone just enlighten me? :)

Thanks a lot, stapp. Used the Registry method in the MajorGeeks link. Hopefully that did the trick. :)

I'm assuming it was mostly trying to get you to use a Microsoft account?

Well, flattery and sweet-talk will get it nowhere...fast. :cautious:

It hasn't come back, thank the gods. I also disabled some stuff in Settings. All these paths to get you connected to the Mothership, right?

Got (2) update preview KBs: 5017380 (cumulative preview) and 5017858 (.NET Framework preview)--record of these would be under Update History and then: Other Updates in Settings app. Had a little to clean. Afterward, I found things a bit more speedy on here and it wasn't too shabby before as it is. Winver for Windows 10: 19044.2075.

I checked in Reliability Monitor to see how things were going and it looked like this for the past 2 weeks. 2025 can take its own sweet time, this is pretty good right here and now. Hope it stays that way.
