    I casually read this post:

    https://malwaretips.com/threads/google%E2%80%99s-manifest-v3-still-hurts-privacy-security-and-innovation.111481/#post-971368

If we take into account only the anti-trackers lists we need to consider the members of both forums that do not use Adguard DNS + Chrome-based browsers.
In this case the greatest danger is CNAME-cloaked tracking.

    https://github.com/AdguardTeam/cname-trackers

Any member who would like to do a test will notice that the AG- CNAME Disguised list to Chrome-based browsers:

    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AdguardTeam/cname-trackers/master/combined_disguised_trackers.txt

blocks more CNAME trackers than the default AG list in UBO.
Is it better to use a list that blocks multiple CNAME trackers?
Everyone must give himself the answer that he prefers.

At this point I have to consider the anti-trackers protection (NOT CNAME) of my browser.
If I trust this protection I can also choose an EasyPrivacy list.
If I trust it a lot I can also choose an optimized EasyPrivacy list.

The EasyPrivacy list with the lowest total number of rules is the "minified" list.

So instead of using EasyPrivacy it is better to use AdGuard Tracking Protection in a chromium-based browser with uBlock Origin?
It is available under Privacy but has 25041 rules.

cname uncloaking is turned off here, in any browser for ublock. as i wrote several times here before, it makes filtering more complicated without helping. if i dont like it, i block it. several 3rd-pparty elements are blocked by default

ATP is active, EP not. additional active: "AdGuard Base filter + EasyList (Optimized)", "AdGuard DNS filter"

for android same, but there is android premium working with dns feature(s).

"Adguard Tracking Protection" certainly blocks fewer CNAME trackers than "AdGuard CNAME disguised trackers list".
    Try a test.

    With my system you have:

AdGuard CNAME disguised trackers list = 13272 rules used (in my UBO)
EasyPrivacy Minified = 9685 rules used (in my UBO)

    Total
    22957

Less rules than AG Tracking Protection.

I think that you should test an anti-tracker filter together with an ad-blocker. It's the combination of both that gives the best result.

This configuration is not efficient in Chrome.
For optimal protection against tracking you need to combine:

    1. AdGuard Tracking Protection (12.643)
    2. AdGuard CNAME disguised trackers list(15.921)
Therefore it is advisable to delete EasyPrivacy minified.

    Total = 28564

The JavaScript Restrictor addon was already discussed here in another thread. I'm mentioning it here as the authors published an interesting blog post describing how they visited more than 200,000 websites - with and without uBlock Origin. You can see from the tables in that post that the number of javascript API calls was dramatically lower with uBO. The blog post doesn't mention how uBO was configured - I guess they used the default settings. The results would surely be even better with more filterlists enabled or with Dynamic Filtering in medium or hard mode.

That post proves again how well uBO protects us against tracking, fingerprinting and other evils.

Does anybody now why the Edge version doesn't get updates anymore?
Asked Raymond Hill and Nik Rolls on Twitter, but didn't get a response :'(
I know I can use the Google Chrome version but prefer extensions only from Microsoft Edge Addons and don't allow extensions from other stores.

Hmmm, useless to speculate but it does seem a little troubling.

I've used the Chrome version since switching to chromium Edge. Just seems "easier" that way. Good thing there's that more up-to-date alternative now at any rate.

Edit: it's still offered at the Microsoft Edge add-ons store, albeit at the 1.39.2 version.

From January 14 to present a significant increase in CNAME Trackers.
    First 15921.
Since few days they are 20593.

I remind you once again that these trackers are not blocked by the anti-tracker defenses of your browsers.

For Firefox, I have AdGuard's CNAME Disguised Trackers list with 20709 of 21714 entries enabled. That seems "sufficient," or...? Is there a better filter list than that one, anyone know offhand?

    With Firefox you should use:

"AdGuard CNAME original trackers list" (37/37) rules.

    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AdguardTeam/cname-trackers/master/combined_original_trackers.txt

Quite an advantage over chrome-based browsers.
    :thumb:;):)

    P.S.

It should be added that with Firefox I personally consider the list unnecessary as well:

    "AdGuard Tracking Protection"

I suspect that not only there would be overlapping rules, but I consider it unnecessary because the anti-tracking protection ( not the default) of the browser is certainly able to be more efficient than the list.
