@roger_m Hi Since you have experience of Slimjet, could you name some good "flags" to have in it that enhances it`s, well, make it better in all regards.
The only settings I have changed are the following. In Tab options, in Advanced settings, I have enabled Auto create new tab when a URL is entered. This means that anything I enter in the address bar, gets opened in a new tab. I've I also enabled Continue where you left off, so it reopens my previous tabs when I launch it. I've not used any flags to increase security or privacy.
As you can see, I have not turned on the Auto Sign-in. Even so, Slimjet auto-signs me into every site where I have a saved password. So -- do you have any idea what the Auto Sign-in switch does & doesn't?
That's a feature of Chromium, rather than being specific to Slimjet, and it's something I've never disabled. It won't have any effect on sites like Wilders where you stay signed in for a long period of time, after doing so. I presume it is only for sites where you have got Slimjet to save the username and password, and are required to sign in every time you visit.
Ok. Do you know of any browser that is slimmer then this one, smaller in size, but still has decent functions?
I guess that all Chromium based browser are going to occupy a similar amount of disk space. I've never taken a look at the space used by Chromium based browsers and ones not based on it.
Certainly has more features than most chromium based browsers.On my low spec computer i found the resource usage to be quite high. Just a couple of points of interest: Searches performed through the bing search engine are also redirected through fpseek. Texas based company and indeed stephen cheng the lead developer is from china but this should not deter users from using slimjet. A couple of settings in the browser which people may need to untick as they pertain to analytics and telemetry. Solid browser with many features but too heavy for my low end computer.
Not all but most according to my experience. SLIMjet is almost half the size as Brave for instance. And about a third of Edge. But thanks for responding.
I have had the same experience. Slimjet is, indeed, slimmer than Bravo & Edge (two browsers with missions of their own -- & those missions evidently cause larger footprints).
32-bit versions of browsers are smaller in size compared to 64-bit versions, if size matters for you. chrome portable is 32-bit and it's smaller than most other browsers.
