I can't recall if I asked this before, but what is the purpose of sumo constantly sending packets to its' website when it is open and dormant doing nothing and why is this necessary?


Okay I found where I asked this before back in 2017 (page 93). No real answer at the time.
OK, i'll think deeper about this. Still thinking about it?

 

We have 2 servers, (main and alternate). We ping them every minute so that on a check SUMo immediately goes on the fastest / right server

 

The same argument still applies to what I said previously. Please read the remarks starting here. IMO the implementation needs to be improved and causes unnecessary traffic.

SUMo tells me that v5.14.9.518 is available. Where can I find the portable version of the latest build? I can't find it on the official website.
