Through the years, I've tried every one of those listed but Vivaldi, as well as some others. I guess for those I won't install or use, GOOGLE Chrome, Safari, and Opera are three. There are others not listed. Currently, Edge Chrome and Brave are on my laptop. I lean toward using Brave most of the time.
A lot of World Wide Web is centered around Google services: search engine, Google Ads, Google DNS and products such as Google Chrome. Google also has other products that are accessible by WWW such as Google Maps, GMail, YouTube. Microsoft does not have that dominant position on the World Wide Web, so I am not as afraid of Microsoft as Google there.
Voted --Others Well, to say "never" is to put a glass ceiling down but I will prob. "never" install a more "exotic" browser like KMeleon or Avant. Does Amazon make a discrete browser? That too. Yikes!

Of the one's listed I have tried them all other than Vivaldi. I try to avoid Chrome and Edge on principal, the first because I don't trust Google when it comes to privacy and the second because Microsoft software / UI design lately tends to have some weirdness to it that is just off-putting to me. On my Mac and iPhone, I just use Safari because it's the default, and I actually kinda dig it... and Apple is at least paying lip-service to sticking it to the privacy-abusers. On Windows I bounce between Firefox and Chrome (yeah, I know I said that tried to avoid Chrome, but old habits die hard). The others go unused because I just can't be bothered to go that far out-of-my way.
I voted for Chrome. I tried to use it several times over the years but I just could not get around using the bookmarks. I have been using and loving Firefox forever simply because of the bookmarks. Maybe I am too accustomed to it and do not want to change but it is what it is.
I've been using Chrome since it started. As a substitute in case of malfunctioning Edge would be my choice, I have no reasons to consider any other alternative.

Very interesting, thanks Vasa. I'm pretty happy with Firefox on Ubuntu, although I also have Chrome and Bugvaldi. Yeah, I used to get that a lot with online banking with Ubuntu. I have recently discovered that my bank doesn't totally work with Linux. In fact, after I pointed this out to them they issued a statement that their site only really works with Windows and macOS. Which is disconcerting to say the least. It would be interesting to see if it worked properly using Edge on Ubuntu by fooling the site's browser sniffer. Although I'm not optimistic. Even scarier; there's a version of Edge for macOS .
Web is a platform. It shouldn’t matter for a website which OS you are running under the web browser’s hood. You can use extension to spoof user agent or use built-in browser web development tools to spoof that.
I don't know. I do know there are certain functions I can't do in my bank's site with Ubuntu. The bank claims it's because the site isn't coded for Linux. It is fully functional with macOS.
I use a 32bit puppy linux computer so my choices are rather limited but i would not install slimjet as i read some articles on the privacy issues. I mainly use firefox,pale moon and seamonkey.
I won't use Chrome and Edge because of privacy issues. I also won't use a lot of Chromium forks that are behind on Chromium updates because they are riddled with vulnerabilities like Maiar, Epic Privacy browser, Maxthon, Avant, Comodo Dragon and more. This includes most 'Banking Mode' browsers from AV products.
If I were you I would spoof my user agent. Probably would try Firefox with Windows user agent, then Chrome with MacOS and ChromeOs user agents. If it wouldn’t work I would probably play with mobile user agents, but it is far fetched - I would consider changing a bank at this moment or limit its use and go physicaly here until they fix their website. It shouldn’t really happen. Web is a platform. Hardcoding user agents in website seems so 2008-ish (Flash, Silverlight, fear of the unknown).
I did experiment with UA spoofing but although I can use much of the site with Ubuntu there are certain things it won't do. Firefox, Chrome and Vivaldi all wouldn't work properly. I doubt changing to another bank would work. From what I can gather many banking institutions don't work properly with Linux. This is just laziness on their part I reckon. They need to code the site for Ubuntu. Although admittedly there are many Linux flavours. I can use either of my Mac's perfectly well on the site.
Maybe there are some outdated regulations related to online banking in France (?) I guess. I have two bank accounts. One of them I use frequently by website. Second is somewhat less used, but I also logged there a few times from Linux. Never had an issue with it. Heck, I even logged from some system amongst BSD family.
That sure is disconcerting. I never knew the OS would make any difference, I thought it was OK if the browser was supported. So far, I had no issues with my bank's website and Firefox on Kubuntu. I don't think I ever noticed any issue with any website using Firefox on Kubuntu. But perhaps I just haven't visited the right website, yet.
