Holy crap, this is bad stuff. And seems the extension is still up in Google Play. Another question that comes to mind is, why would people need such an extension, most browsers nowadays offer so called Speed Dials. And perhaps this news deserves its own thread, because I think it's important enough and I usually don't often visit this thread.

You should ask my daughter who used to use this extension.
It is always present in Edge/Chrome Store

FVD SD was spying you since you created dials - each dials requests an image of its servers, so if you inserted top secret links - tadaa no longer secret.
and FVD made other dials disappear in chrome store, they claimed "legal" rights to the name "speed dial" and made 3 dials to give up. money su****s, not user friendly.

for my money, opera has the best speed dial design. speed dial is a must for browsers, especially for mobile browsers. vivaldi's speed dial is not as user friendly as opera's. brave's homepage sucks big time, with its unremovable stats counter on mobile.

that's not true. you can save your bookmarks either to speed dial folder or to bookmarks folder or both.

    Search queries....mah !!!
I don't think anyone cares so much if my daughter opens the page of a furniture store,a website where she orders some medications she uses,a dental website where she books her dental cleaning every 6 months.....etc.....etc...

However, I changed extension for the 6/7 websites it had stored in FVD.
I read a comment from the author of the extension (at least it seems) in GHacks:

    P.S.

I am disturbed by these events.
Like when I was banned from the Pale Moon forum because the paradigm falsely considered me a hacher for an improvement I made to the e-mail client derived from that crap he created that I don't even mention in this forum.

Makes sense. I don't browse much at all on mobile but I could see it being useful in that case.

yes, for sure: "our dog ate the mails again, we are sorry, bla bla"

    BS

same reason they kicked off Oleksandr/pag77 and its S3 extensions. AMO team do, do again, but it happens not that quick as those dudes want us believe. kill the dog...

PS firefox mobile (android) is not able to use dials not does it offer any. it has collections or like mine - synced bookmarks (hint: collections are not saved nor synced, if you reset firefox, the collections are gone, better go bookmarks with sync - or recover collections from synced bookmarks/special created folder, go figure)

As @nicolaasjan mentioned, it's back. I was a user when the !@#$ hit the fan. I found out it was back a while ago and installed it. I like it. Works like before. My choice.

I have never used them. From what I understood, browsers like Vivaldi make money from them because of the deals that they make with companies like Booking.com and Amazon.

I don't know your daughter, perhaps you can ask here? :p

Wait a minute, why did you decide to uninstall the Video DownloadHelper extension? I have been using it for years in Firefox and Vivaldi, is it spyware? I do always manually enable it when I need it on certain sites, so it's not allowed to run on all sites.
