Not a Darn thing, but... I just pressed the power button and it said it was applying updates, so...

Edit: I know the way I spelled 'darn' is not the correct spelling in this case, but for some reason some get offended by putting an 'mn' in it, and as this is a global forum I chose the other option.

I went into town for a while and the machine was still applying updates. When I got home it had shut down. When I powered it up and tried to boot Into Windowd it failed. I was prompted to restart which resulted in the same error requiring a restart.

    I'm done with Windows 11.

That stinks. It clearly does not like that machine. Probably an incompatible device of some kind.

Yeah, probably. From that very brief look at the OS I was not impressed one bit anyway. Looks like another Vista / Win8 to me.

It also includes extra clicks in the Settings app to get to Windows Update.

-It also now takes you to "Advanced app settings" when you right click the Start Button and click "Apps and Features" instead of the list of installed apps. Why are they suddenly adding extra layers of complications to the Setting app? Surely they can find things to fix without breaking more stuff.

I've updated my laptop to Windows 11.
It's not a powerful computer, but the "health check" said, "Yes, you can update to Win11", and I did it.
I use that laptop mostly to browse on the Internet while I'm not behind the desktop computer.
    Here are my first "emotions".
    My laptop got seriously slower.:'(
I've started experiencing crashes while using Firefox and/or Osiris.
Some right click issues really makes me mad.
That new design of the task bar - the Start button in the middle - o_Oo_O
What really irritates me it's that new path to Settings through the Start button. :ouch:
All the new "offerings" from MS with Win11 - I don't need them.
Android app - I have iphone.
360 MS Office subscription - I have MS Office 2019.
    Microsoft store -

@zmechys You can move the Start Menu back to the left corner. Go to Settings -> Personilzation -> Taskbar -> Taskbar behaviors, and set Taskbar alignment to "Left."

Just as in Windows 10, you can go to Settings by pressing Windows key + I.

You are given the option to unpin the Microsoft Store from the Task Bar and Start Menu, if you right-click on it.

Are you going to roll back to Win10?

No. It's not my "busy" desktop computer, that currently is running Windows10 perfectly.

    Thank you.

The Interface issues are just a simple but annoying problem.
I'd like to see if my browser crashes and sluggishness disappear in the future.

I think the speed is hardware related. I’ve tried Windows 11 on an older Lenovo Think Pad…. and it felt slower than Windows 10 Pro.

However, on one of my desktop systems, Windows 11 Pro was actually quicker. It uses i9 9900k, 64 gigabytes of 3200 RAM and a m.2 Samsung 970 pro (MLC) SSD. Even creating a back up with Terabytes Unlimited (for Linux) took considerably less time than with Windows 10.

I had thousands on one of my machines!! Surprised my recycle bin didn't break under the strain of deleting them:D

    https://www.ghacks.net/2021/11/01/windows-11-creates-lots-of-empty-folders-in-a-system32-directory/

They've started again but I'm not really willing to do a reg hack just to deal with them. Perhaps a CCleaner include or just filed in my list under monthly maintenance.

On my ThinkPad with an i3 3120M, which I upgraded to Windows 11, rather than doing a clean install, performance is just as good, if not slightly faster, than it was with Windows 10.

HP Support Assistant is advertising Win11 on this machine that does not support all of the hardware requirements. So now it's not just Microsoft installing their crap and advising my machine isn't compatible, it looks like HP have decided to add their annoyance too.

Yes it's logical, they want to sell new hardware and they will use Windows 11 as much as possible to persuade people to buy new computers.

Strangely today I get a UAC prompt and can get to this folder today. Not sure what was broken yesterday. I had 460 on my Windows 11 PC and on Windows 10 there were 3,780.

On W10, deleted over 3000 folders yesterday, 20 back today, looks like its just best to ignore them.

Hmm ... also loads here on Win 10. If there is no ill-effect, maybe it is a job for CCleaner include ... Wise Cleaner Advanced isn't removing them.
    Maybe.

The question is do they create overhead of some kind?
