It really has been a big day / night for me. I've installed and updated my graphics card, installed Sandboxie+ and 'upgraded to Win 11.
Shall see how long that lasts

All specs but the CPU? I've done one of those. It was easy. A machine with no TPM? Much more difficult but I got it done. Both seem to run fine.

Ok where is that hack to install it on a machine that does not meet the specs? I need to test on a laptop here at work. Thanks.

But here's the kicker; Windows installed OK, apparently, but it will not accept my account password.

You can use the Lab Config registry hack, the Microsoft workaround or a third party tool - to skip the hardware checks.

Processor incompatibility is a function of the installer, not the hardware. Its a purely artificial limitation.

As long as you have a multicore 64 bit processor, you should be good to go.

I never set up a password for Windows. I don't want to lock myself out!

Sorry to hear! You never know if a Windows upgrade is going to be successful.

Yeah, I tried that one and it did nothing. It still refused to get past the lack of a TPM despite the claims that it was supposed to bypass that check.

Even when I reset the password, after answering 3 questions successfully, I still can't log into Windows. At this point I can't see any option but to load my image backup.

No idea. I don't have a copy to test. We run Pro here. Maybe if you get an ISO that includes it I would think it may work. That installer runs the ISO. I would recommend downloading a correct one first.

Roger that. I have the ISO and just kicked off the process. I will let you know if it works.

    EDIT: It worked.

Well I'll be *expletive* A system restart after entering "w" as a new password and... "Preparing Windows"!
Arg, but now, "We can't sign in to your account". I'm already over Wind11.

As I persist I find Win11 a completely different OS compared to Win10. For me so far, there's more of a learning curve than there was from Win7 to Win10.

Righto, I'm signed into @ Wilders' from Win11. How do I get my Task Bar (and Start menu) back? I had an Apple looking dock last boot but that's gone!

It might settle down eventually but even after a complete shut down it is still using 100% CPU making it impossible to do ANYTHING !

Krusty, is Win11 on a HD or SSD? How long does it take to load to the Win11 desktop?

Brian, I only have SSDs on my PC'S.

I can't even get a Start menu at all. Can't get in to settings, so....

So in the centre of your taskbar, you don't have 8 or so icons?

Can you change the screen resolution?

What happens when you press the Windows key on your keyboard? It should bring up the Start menu.
