I saw where the Suite is now on the Microsoft Store but after installing all it seems to do is open the website. Not very useful if that is what it does.
Sysinternals apps can now auto-update via the Microsoft Store https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ne...-can-now-auto-update-via-the-microsoft-store/ EDIT: as it seems it installs all apps, so I won't use this app.
Did anyone else actually try it? Because again, when I installed it on 2 PCs all it did was open the website. It did not install any apps.
I tried it and it installed all apps. After removing it, it also removed all apps. Clicking on it also opens website for me.
Thanks for confirming. I'll have to try it again. --Ok, I removed and reinstalled, seems to be good now.
Why is it that something inside me tells me Mark isn't any longer developing it but another person (maybe coached). I deduce my opinion from the fact that for many countless years there was never such a series (of at least Autoruns) of issues nowhere near on the order that we've run into now with recent releases of Autoruns. Maybe other apps too? I simply can do nothing but speculate at this point.
No matter. It isn't of any real concern. The previous versions that are accurate will remain that way.
Sysinternals Suite (October 26, 2021) https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/sysinternals-suite These applications have been updated:
Autoruns is getting better but NOT working is this even in ADMIN MODE: User CANNOT disable checkmarks in the Logged On Start Ups.
Wow this is weird. Oh btw I already used the Compatibility TAB to Run As Admin for ALL USERS and OWNER. I can uncheck the checkmarks under the HKLM*** Current Version\Run Registry Entries fine. But in my screenshot above it's NO DOING as well as under some other Headings such as HKLM\\\\Active Setup\Installed Components
14.06 is still broken on older supported builds such as Win7 ESU, Win 8.1 and W10 LTSB when trying the following scenario: Code: File > Save then File > Open or Compare Anyone have an older system to confirm? (if yes, please include your build) I've reported the problem to Msoft.
Yep it most certainly is an ongoing issue with Sysinternals of late. Compare within Autoruns is also a useful feature when it works.
Another bug in AutoRuns 14.06. This is a valid task regarding Task Scheduler: %windir%\system32\rundll32.exe /d acproxy.dll,PerformAutochkOperations but Autoruns show it as /d.exe https://i.ibb.co/nPXxwR2/Image-240.png I don't believe anymore that Mark is the person who maintain the 14x builds. They are all awful.
Autoruns for Windows v14.07 (December 16, 2021) https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns
Microsoft Sysinternals Suite 16.12.2021 https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/sysinternals-suite ADExplorer v1.51, Autoruns v14.07, CacheSet v1.02, Process Monitor v3.87 and Sysmon v13.31 https://techcommunity.microsoft.com...7-cacheset-v1-02-process-monitor/ba-p/3040515
Testings still in progress with the absolute newest release of AutoRuns and so far I not seen the previous series of crappy problems as before. YET Fingers crossed
Where are you noticing the discrepancy. It could be helpful. Windows 8.1 is showing this for me IF it's accurate across all displays.
Hmmm, I ran this on Win8.1 and I'm getting the load error. What steps did you take to get your result? Did you use v13 or v14?
The very latest revised or updated one from their page 14.0.7 Which I was rather surprised worked for a change. Also renders on the screen better than like stretching chewing gum previously
Well Bah! Spoke too soon. I can neither UNCHECK the item OR DELETE in this branch of the Autoruns settings. Yes running as Administrator. Pooh I was going to disengage that particular start up program to ensure the COMPARE feature would pick that change up next run after SAVE to .arn
