"I will wait for a while and decide later", but I'm already using non-Microsoft OSes so I may go that root after WIN10 goes EOL. Or I may stick with my systems as they are and perhaps use 0Patch down the track. I haven't seen any compelling reason to install Win11 and officially none of my machines meet the hardware requirements. I'm sure I won't be buying new hardware just for Win11. For me, time will tell.
Considering that my main system doesn't have a supported processor, and it seems that on unsupported hardware, you may not be able to get updates, I'm not going to upgrade just yet. If Microsoft decides to start making updates available for unsupported systems, or there is another way to get Windows Update working (I don't want to install updates manually), then I'll certainly consider upgrading. If not, I'll buy a used, supported system - not a new one, before support for Windows 10 ends in 2015. While I would like to be using Windows 11 now, Windows 10 works just fine for me, so I can live without it.
i stick with w10.. technicaly w11 is comsetic changes from w10, dunno why they make separate version expetialy when miccrosoft "promised" w10 will be last version and how always corporation lies us Meaby after some "long" time i will jump to w11.
As an update to my last post, I am now going to upgrade tonight. I just saw the following post at MalwareTips from the moderator Jack, who updated an unsupported system and is getting updates. https://malwaretips.com/threads/windows-11-first-look.108697/post-960941 I've got a current backup, so I can go back to Windows 10 if I have issues with Windows 11. I don't envisage any major issues, but this is a new version of Windows, so you never know.
Simple, it is up to Ms! If they dont deliver updates to incompatible pc`s, which mine isn`t, then i will stay with W10, otherwise i will continue with this W11 installation.
My system is fully compatible with Windows 11, but as I have absolutely no problem with W10, I don’t think is worth to upgrade.
My pc is compatible with W.11 but I will not install it, I will decide in the future. My daughter's pc is over 10 years old. W.10 21H1 is heavy for its hardware features, and in fact I had to make many changes to make the OS agile and fast. In that pc I will install LinuxLite. My daughter was the first 10 years old girl in my town to use Linux, in a pc we had in those years. She used it until the first 2 years of high school. I hope she didn't unlearn the basics.
I already installed it on my personal laptop. I was curious and expected to roll it back but I find myself liking it and am planning to keep it. Can't do my desktop. Despite being almost as powerful it is too old. At work most of the machines won't qualify so I will be upgrading somewhere between a couple and none.
I won't be upgrading to Win 11 because I don't see it as an improvement. I will probably start using it when I buy a new desktop, hopefully I will be able to disable all annoying changes that M$ made.
Since both computers are not compatabile with Win 11, I'll stay with Win 10 on both Desktop and Laptop until the computer dies.
My main system is a 10 year old desktop so won't be installed on it. Installed on my 1 year old laptop, but only use it maybe twice a month.
On my crappy laptop, w11 workinf fine, dual bootin with Fedora 35 beta. But...damn i do like Fedora Gnome...it takes a time to get used to it....but i do like Fedora a lot.
Using W10 LTSC and it's running great. No reason to start using W11. I don't see any difference between the 2 except cosmetically. W11 seems to have a lot more services too.
i like 11 a lot. it was faster, lighter and much more stable for me when i test ran it on a vm for a couple of weeks (not that there's any issue with 10 on my rigs). but my systems aren't fully compatible with it. so i'll wait till i get myself a new rig. so far i've managed to save a considerable amount of cash for it. it's going better than i anticipated. i don't see a reason why anyone with a fully compatible rig wouldn't want to upgrade to 11.
I've been running W11 since end of June. For a new-ish OS, it's been nicely stable. The (very) few bugs experienced first hand were fixed eventually and/or worked-around. It's more responsive than 10 and the various games I play are likewise. I even like the task bar with the centered icons. The Start Menu needs some refinement and there's a little too much redundancy viz: Control Panel and Settings but all that will come in time, I hope. No major complaints at the moment and will not roll back to 10. Yes, thanks Minimalist.
