It sure looks that way. Personally I don't know what to make of it all, yet.

My CPU is the only reason this machine isn't compatible but I'm not concerned. I still haven't heard or read anything that would compel me to 'upgrade'.

Going off the Windows 10 update setting it displays Good News Your PC Can Run Windows 11. Also says it'll let you know when it's ready on this end. Mid South

When you ignored good advice to enroll in the Windows Insiders Program, you missed out. Now you have to wait.

You can download the iso. and do an in place upgrade or do a clean install but Microsoft will require you to sign a waiver acknowledging you're installing Windows 11 at your own risk on an unsupported PC and Microsoft isn't liable for anything that might go wrong and you will not receive updates through Windows Update.

As long as you meet the other requirements, you can install and run Windows 11. Microsoft won't insist your processor must be on their official list but its holding firm on all the other requirements for Windows 11.

Manual downloads can be done through WSUS. Its just more involved to install updates yourself. Still a path but there's the unlikely possibility Microsoft might block it in the future.

Would like to give the final version a try in Parallels Desktop (17.0.1) on my Intel Mac, but the installer says my PC does not meet the minimum requirements, without telling me which one(s)...

(The Insider versions ran fine in a VM before)

    Tips?

Well, I'm glad I didn't spend the time to upgrade the only device I have that qualifies for this "upgrade" because this issue would have caused me to have to roll back.
Killer networking sucks by the way, I can't get faster than 3 Mbps on the Wi-Fi connection no matter what I have tried. The Gigabit wired works as expected.

Microsoft's caution is unwarranted! It doesn't listen to the feedback of its users. Real world testing apparently has had no impact on how the rollout is being done.

Here's the irony. Back in 2015, Microsoft attempted to shove Windows 10 down the throats of its users. I only upgraded much later.

Today Microsoft is making it as difficult as possible for its users to go on Windows 11. I upgraded early.

Why in the farking world is Microsoft enforcing hardware requirements on virtual machines?? People who are testing Windows 11 on them aren't using them in a production environment. There are no security issues involved here.

The first update out next week should fix several reported issues. Others will be addressed over the next year.

They'll be releasing 12 by then. If they're smart. I expect this to go over like Vista. Which was probably actually a better OS.

Upgraded my home machine last night. No issues that I have noticed so far. We shall see.

Vista's hardware requirements infuriated users and OEM partners complained. Microsoft eventually backed down but Vista never quite recovered from the debacle.

Windows 11 is an incremental update - really an enhanced service pack to Windows 10. Sans the new hardware requirements and the rearranged ui, its basically Windows 10 in all but name.

This is the first version of Windows where I haven't had software in need of being upgraded to be compatible with it.

I hear you. I have been testing it at work and have had a few glitches, but no show stoppers. We will not be upgrading at work since the majority of our hardware is not compatible. I am fine with this as I am not in a rush to roll this out to our employees. I will continue to test myself and at home just to see how things are and keep testing and looking for anything that would be a show stopper. I would imagine we will not be upgrading at my job for at least another year.
