Even for an open space where the core ad was removed? I didn't check so I'm not sure there.

I looked up what Firefox uses for its privacy settings, and it seems it's the Disconnect list--same as Microsoft Edge. So it would not be surprising if the same result of an ad's appearance on that site would happen if you disabled the Strict setting in Privacy in Edge. But again, didn't double-check that, just surmising.

Honestly? The line differentiating the various mainstream browsers seems to be getting thinner all the time. I'm concerned Manifest v. 3 is going to flatten things even further. :cautious:

ofc firefox uses a simple disconnect list as the extensions.
if you entered the string i found or use the easylist, there is nothing else to do. but i thought that this ad is created by script, but the picker cannot permanent remove results caused by script which create cryptic sections in common and change each load. only firefox is able to show up the script, even chromium based cannot do this. or search the needle within the uBo netlogger.

Ublock does not block YouTube 3 to 5 second ads. Anyone have a suggestion on how to accomplish this?

Why do I never see an ad on YouTube then with only uBO?

I never saw an ad on Youtube with Firefox, but I have seen some bypassing uBlock Origin while using Chromium based browsers.

Not getting YouTube ads. I found on Firefox, if I disable the uBlock filter blocklist (the first list in the default filter list section) and refresh the page of a popular YouTube page, I'll get that 15 second pre-video ad. I don't know if that's going to hold true for everyone but it was the case on here.

Sometimes my blocklists don't auto-update and I find this out by serendipity.

I have tracking protection set to the max in all of my browsers. Not sure if that makes a difference or not, but all have uBO installed and I use it in Easy Mode, mainly because in Firefox I use NoScript.

    Curious: cnn.com
uBlock Origin with AdGuard filters. I see the ad before the cnn video.
AdGuard extension with AdGuard filters. I do not see the ad before the cnn video.
    ~ just me?

I don't use any AdGuard filters. No ads before the videos play, but there is a 2-3 second delay before they play.

    Edit

actually it seems I do use one custom AdGuard filter :

    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AdguardTeam/FiltersRegistry/master/filters/filter_17_TrackParam/filter.txt

however if I disable it I still get same results as above - no ads

Yes, I see a delay & no ad with AdGuard extension + AdGuard filters.
I see the ad with uBO Built-in & AdGuard filters.
I was using Easy & Fanboy's filters with uBO. Maybe, switching to AdGuard filters is causal.
    Thanks
    Edit: @wat0114
Yep, switching to AdGuard filters was causal. Thanks again.
Easy & Fanboy's use 17k more network filters.

The adguard filter in uBlock is designed to be complementary to Easylist

So, it’s best to use both

Yes. If you want to use adguard base, it’s best to use it with easylist

Okay, if I use AdGuard Base...best to use with EasyList.
I'm not using AdGuard filters, now.
    I'll stick with Easy & Fanboy's, now.
    Thanks

A modified version of Easylist is included in Adguard base. No need to use both.

I didn't realize that you use the uBlock's version of Adguard base without included Easylist. In that case there is no overlap.
