This is not a bug. It is because of the anti ransomware shield. Disable it before backup or put it to exclusion. As you can see ransomware shield cuts the 4k speed of the ssd at half.

Why does MBAM not protect against Firefox exploits? Is Firefox too vulnerable to be protected?

    Hello @lunarlander

@Krusty has quite accurately pointed out the effective anti exploit (AE) module which is one of seven protection levels within Malwarebytes for Windows Premium (MB4).

I just ran Malwarebytes for the first time in a long while and updated it to the latest version. I rarely use it these days, because as much as I like it, I see no point in installing it on my main system. It's disappointing that it still doesn't group all files and registry keys belonging to a particular threat or PUP together, which would make it much quicker and easier to unselect things which you don't want to remove. Also, the scrollbar issue, which I've reported to Malwarebytes twice, still remains.

    Hello @roger_m

@1PW alerted me to your post here. I have replied to your old, old topic on the Malwarebytes forum. If you can reply to that I'll see what I can do to get the issue corrected if possible.

    Thank you

@AdvancedSetup Thanks, I have replied there. What about the second point I raised, which I was told long ago would be implemented?

+1 for that feature! I do have legit license for MB, liked the beta a lot. I do like the software, frequent updates and the performance is getting better and better. Maybe i'll install it again when i'm done testing McAfee Endpoint and move to test yet another solution :D

    Hello @moredhelfinland

Although some time challenged Malwarebytes decision makers do read this particular Wilders sub-forum, suggestions for MB4 improvements will always draw a larger audience if made within their suggestion sub-forum at: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/forum/12-malwarebytes-for-windows/

Aye, but i think @AvancedSetup still reads wilders forums and seemed made some posts (141) earlier here. So i thought i wrote my own short opinion here. So no fuss, keep it calm, take a beer etc :D

Malwarebytes advertises on Yahoo. There, they have an ad embedded in a so-called tutorial on how to keep your PC clean.

Not cheap either, though breaking it up into a five dollar monthly fee w/1 month free makes it seem more palatable. It's another lucrative channel for revenue, for sure.

I'm not sure about the other request @roger_m there is a huge effort to modify that behavior in the report so I would doubt there is sufficient value to cost for change. I will submit your request internally though.

    Thank you again

That's a real shame. As I've pointed out before, there are quite a few untrustworthy anti-malware tools which classify the results by threats. As well as that, these days, your product AdwCleaner has this feature too. So I don't see how it would be hard to implement.

The latest Malwarebytes update gives a (false?) alarm on mp3DirectCut (.exe and .lnk files).

All VirusTotal engines claim that the executable is clean.

    Hello @XIII

If there's any chance you can isolate the error from the threat scan, reported by MB4, it could reduce the reaction time significantly?

Below is an entirely unrelated report but it shows what would be super helpful for the Malwarebytes staffers:
    Thank you.
