As already said, recovery tool scan the entire storage. That's the case for instance with Recuva and its "Deep scan". So even data from existing files are "recovered" (not really a recovery in fact)

Hi, The_PrivaZer_Team: This actually turned out to be a Windows 11 issue, which was fixed with build 22000.65. Thanks for acknowledging anyway. PrivaZer continues to work well (except for deletion of Event Viewer logs). :)

    Hello @plat1098

I've tested with WIN11 beta 22000.160 and the events are all cleaned.
Can you verify if this checkbox is ticked and test the new WIN11 beta 22000.160 ?

Hi The_PrivaZer_Team, thank you for checking this out. I went and double-checked checked the setting you indicated in your screenshot and ran PrivaZer. Hmmm, the Event logs were still there afterward. I also have Windows v. 22000.160. Maybe I should un/reinstall PrivaZer but it's working so well otherwise.

Since you tested it, it must be working. So, I'll hold off until the next version and keep checking. Thanks again.

    No need to reinstall PrivaZer.
Are you sure that the event entries are not new events, I mean events created after the cleanup ?

Yes, I'd checked that at an earlier time and once the logs are deleted, Event Viewer is re-populated with just a few new ones. Here, the # of logs is the same before and after cleaning.

I made a short video clip that has just the setting for Event Viewer logs to be cleaned. Hopefully, this is the correct setting for PrivaZer to do that cleaning of EV. If you want, I can post it over at MalwareTips but honestly, I'm more inclined to just wait it out. :) It's almost always something "off" on here--but what?

Hee Hee. Your not the only one @The_PrivaZer_Team

It's going to be fun times ahead juggling Windows 8.1 and Windows 11. Both sporting this Spectacular Program!

    Click :thumb:

For some reason this little seemingly minor standalone shellbag cleaner helps keep the HDD running uninhibited. Those bags can add up. Nice to be able periodically sweep them from their logged settling spot.

If it matters for some. On Windows 8 the newest updated Shellbags Analyzer and Cleaner shows a marked difference in rapid cleaning of them. Way faster then I expected and under load!

    Another stellar effort @The_PrivaZer_Team

At present the one-click selection to clean internet traces calls and runs the 'include/exclude' deletion which is great.
However, shellbags associated with any directories included for deletion in the 'include/exclude' list are not deleted.
Could you please consider doing so?
    Many thanks

    Hello @takiabtom,

the problem is that it is complicated to exclude keys to preserve some Shellbags because BagMRu entries and Bags entries are associated.
Maybe a solution would be to have an exclusion list based on the folder name and not on the keys.
That would be easier for users to handle it.

Well, just got a notice thru the app that an update is here. Version 4.0.29. Someone can post the changelog--just wanted to notify. :)

Now to try it out. :)

Edit: changelog, which is not a lot of change, it seems.

    Thanks for your prompt response
I am not sufficiently technical to understand the ins and out of what is/is not possible so I must bow to your expertise.
I just feel that it is a trifle unfortunate to have deleted directories in Privazer only to have to go into the Shellbag cleaner in order to clean/erase the shell bags of those directories.

    anything would help thanks
but is it more achievable by making directories and related subdirectories specified in the include list delete those specific shellbags?

However you decide for that @The_PrivaZer_Team the Shellbag Analyzer & Cleaner is magnificent!

I use the great standalone version manually every day all day and it is so very effective and super reliable.
Now even more faster than ever. My personal deepest gratitude and respect!
