Does anybody know if geoblock from player.glomex can be blocked with ublock?
The player uses some .js scripts to load but nothing related to ip.

a major problem for video ads is the source, maybe JSON file.
for that page, seems not because video is delivered from same server as ads
    Code:
    freewheel-nl.prd.talpatvcdn.nl
    video is from
    Code:
    https://embed.kijk.nl/video/GpfwKHMBaNUOrz
    JSON says: ads allowed
    Code:
    https://entitlements.jwplayer.com/UzVuSPi1EeODYiIACtqXBA.json
    in short: no

OK thanks for checking it out, seriously these ads are so annoying and you can't skip them. So I never actually watch these videos, what a bunch of idiots.

Does UBO have a AdGuard filter for DNS filtering and DNS requests blocking like the AdGuard Android phone app does.

the android app like you describe could only be the free or paid premium version, i think, not the extension.

adguard behave as VPN so its possibilities are quite different. ublock can block request based on IP or domain names and it containes several lists to perform this out.

firefox is performing dns request to its host, not vice versa.

AdGuard has several DNS filters compatible w/uBO but you would have to import them. I tried using AG's default DNS in the AG ext. one time but it slowed my browsing too much. (half a sec is too much when you're accustomed to virtually instant).

FilterLists | Subscriptions for uBlock Origin, Adblock Plus, AdGuard, ...

It seems Firefox can use NextDNS as a Provider if you search in Settings and then scroll down a bit.

Neither did I. It's reminiscent of a smelly panhandler with missing teeth begging on the street and then going home to his million-dollar apt. in Midtown Manhattan. Absurd.

fortunately we got alternatives like ubo. gorhill is a man of ethics and a man of his word. he not only criticizes them for their so called acceptable ads but also does not accept donations. :thumb:

BTW, I must say that I kinda like the new design of imdb.com, it's better than expected but it runs a bit slow in Vivaldi, it uses quite a lot of CPU time. So is there anything that can be done to speed up page loading? Seems like it's packed with all kinds of scripts, so perhaps uBlock can help a bit.

Are you adding lists each day? ;)
To many lists will cause page breakage, according to @gorhill.

? Please read: the web-site FilterLists is DOWN. You cannot access it. I tried again just now using a known, good bookmark.

    I know it's down.
I just wondered why you're so upset about that.

To answer my own question, I believe imdb.com is loading a bit quicker if you block inline scripts, and it doesn't break anything. But it's truly a disaster the way they designed the new imdb.com, it's full of scripts, and will make Vivaldi use a lot of CPU time, especially if you load multiple sites from IMDB, ridiculous, they need to hire some new webdeveopers.

    Hmm...
Here clicking on a video did nothing, when blocking inline scripts.
    But...but... It's modern. ;)
Do you want every site to be like the very first one published (a whopping 2.17KB front-page  )?

Not a security issue, but with uBO you also change styling of pages.

    Search results bold:
    Screenshot.

And with a custom font (Comic Sans MS) :
    Screenshot.

    Code:
google.com##*:style(font-family: "Comic Sans MS" !important; src: local(Comic Sans MS) !important;)
    google.com##H3:style(font-weight:bold !important;)
