Anyone here use this? As for me, I am running Windows 10 but would not having my setup look like Windows 11 lol.
Isn't Open Shell already working on Win 11? But anyway, Fences seems like a cool app. https://www.stardock.com/products/fences/
Sure looks like it. I still roll with Classic Shell on this end with plenty of nifty animations enough to make even Micro drool with envy.
Major update to Start11 on October 7 restores the ability to move Windows 11 taskbar September 30, 2021 https://www.neowin.net/news/major-u...tores-the-ability-to-move-windows-11-taskbar/ Stardock: Enhance the Start Menu and Restore Classic Functionality with Start11
Why is it after all this time and years Microsoft still just don't get it. Lay off the START button! It was fine as it was before the kiddish tinkerings after 7. It's good that developers came forward with infinitely better options as well besides just returning the START button where user's expected long ago. Then i remind myself over and over again. Self, it's a 'framework only', not a complete computer set designed to improve experience. Micro purposely designed it to serve in that capacity.
Start11 Release Candidate 1 restores the ability to move Windows 11 taskbar October 7, 2021 https://www.neowin.net/news/start11...tores-the-ability-to-move-windows-11-taskbar/
If I upgrade I'll probably have to buy this like I did with Windows 8. I don't know what the point was to have the start menu open to a bunch of pinned shortcuts. I thought that was what the taskbar was for with one less click.
Ever since Microsoft ditched the classic start menu in Windows 8, the techies have installed Classic Shell to bring it back. Its still superior in every way to the stock Windows interface.
Start11 Release Candidate 2 out with more fixes and a full screen Start menu option October 14, 2021 https://www.neowin.net/news/start11...re-fixes-and-a-full-screen-start-menu-option/
I bought it for Windows 8 as well. I actually like having apps pinned to the Start Menu, as I never pin apps to the Task Bar. At the moment, I somewhat prefer the Windows 10 Start Menu, to the Windows 11 one. But I'm not sure if I'll buy this to get the Windows 10 style Start Menu back.
I don't know that I'd want the Windows 10 menu back. Maybe the Windows 7 one. I do pin my most frequently used apps to the taskbar so in the end It's not a critical situation but I do feel the Windows 11 Start Menu is the worst one in a long time.
