    Hello @Page42

As it turns out, the release of 91.0.4472.164 Stable has resolved my update issue to 91.0.4472.125. I prefer to believe that some unannounced issue caused build .125 to be withdrawn. Build .164 updated my MacBook Pro's build .114 successfully and all seems to be functional for me. As I indicated before, Chrome is my tertiary browser on this laptop and wasn't a high priority

At least, with today's update to build .164, I won't need to wait for Chrome 92. Still, thank you again for your intelligent and logical ideas.

    Cheers

Gonna have to look into this new component, Desktop Sharing Hub.

No word yet on security fixes, just the standard "This release includes stability and performance improvements."

92 not only improved the features and refined things but on 8.1 there's no longer a list as long as your arm of chrome.exe in the process list. That was draining energy and laying a burden on what little memory that runs on user's limited memory with Eights.

Mind you now, the reason it loaded up like that is that every new opened tab also run the extensions adding to the stack of extra processes.

    Very well done!

I'm still seeing the same 10 chrome.exe processes in Task Manager with 7x64.

I have a list too but nowhere near as long as it was with release 91 as more tabs open and that's expected on our older O/S system i imagine.

Thanks for weighing in on that with your Windows 7 for us who still use stable albeit no telemetry junk O/S versions.
