Print Friendly & PDF has been blocked for your protection. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked-addon/ff-addon@printfriendly.com/1.3/ in my most used extensions, anyone knows of a good alternative? BTW I have noticed that on Brave everything is fine, as of now at least ...
Is there anything in the alternatives mentioned at https://alternativeto.net/software/printfriendly/ that you might like?
Thanks, that's actually where I went first. Am experimenting with Printliminator and Print Edit WE, they do the job - but so far appear more laborious
Is it always same site you like to print or different? In case of first you can use Stylus (Extension) and create a @media print style to hide always same elements. Or is Reader Mode available? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-reader-view-clutter-free-web-pages In that case you can print the result.
"google search link fix" by wladimir palant is discontinued and thus removed from amo. i loved that extension. does anybody know of any alternative to it?
Thanks for the info, @imdb. I had used this extension for many years until I read your post a couple of minutes ago. Unfortunately, I don't know an alternative to it.
to bad to read. luckily i store each installed build here. alternative, maybe not, only similar "Don't track me Google" from Rob W https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/dont-track-me-google1/ maybe a userscript for xy-monkey.
So true. For me it has what I want. I do not leave my browser open, I close it when I am finished. I don't use a lot of tabs (3 pinned and 4 open, total 7 as I type this). Speed wise it's fast enough for my use. Another reason I continue to use Firefox is add-ons, I have 47 of them installed. I see no reason to switch. I am okay with the bookmarks as they are, I have not seen (or can't remeber) any major change in bookmarks. I have 2,435 of them. Not sure what newskool bookmarks are. Maybe I am missing out on something. I'm not sure what you mean by favorites manager. You mean like in Windows? My frequently used (as in favorites) bookmarks are in folders on the Bookmarks Tool Bar or as pinned Shortcuts on the Home Page. Most of the time I just type in the URL bar and the bookmark I'm looking for shows up as an option to select. If I remember correctly this means under the URL bar. I've gotten used to the tabs as they are now. It no longer bothers me, though it did at one time. I've adapted. I don't recall double clicking to close, I've always used the "X", you can double click to open still. One item that really bugged me that I've accepted now was the Status Bar, that was a hard one to adapt to. I'm good now. Aside from Chromium or Chrome I have not tried a different browser in quite awhile. I don't like Chrome on my Android at all, no add-ons. I'm not up to give other a try right now, simply because I'm good (aside from the cosmetic "Master Password" change) with Firefox. I do have Chromium installed just in case the one site I need to access that does not officially support Mozilla Firefox decides to stop working with Firefox. Right now it does. On logging out, they always offer a use survey; which I do and add a comment to "Please support Mozilla Firefox". support. Do this every month hoping it will work.
Wow you are using 47 extensions, that's a huge risk to security and privacy. And like I said, it comes down to what you need, I'm a very picky "power user", so Firefox, Chrome and Edge are too basic for me. I need my bookmarks and history manager to be tab-based, that's what I meant with new skool. If you want your statusbar back, you might want to check out Waterfox, seems to be a better version of Firefox.
Firefox has the best bookmarks manager of all browser (ofc its derivates like waterfox too). there is nothing similar in chromium based which are really poor. waterfox is based on current esr, and i am not sure they left the legacy system behind - but be aware that legacy system is vulnerable since 4 years - NO updates. nevertheless waterfox has to continue with firefox 91 esr in less than 4 month either its vulnerable again itself. that far about the current design in ESR build, its gone. so they have to insert modifications to get the old design. at least there is not really a difference to firefox esr, only to the current final build and based on some threads in forums the esr has some issues which are resolved with or after firefox 91 (distributed tomorrow). waterfox is not different, its same but with some small modifications which are not vital for the overall behavior. nonsense - my usage includes 28 to 40 extensions different kind (depends on profile) and i dont have issues. outdated extensions may have vulnerabilities, thats true. legacy extensions have for sure security issues, but the legacy system itself is one big security issue
that must be a typo. i'm sure he meant 4 (or 7) extensions. joking aside, it really is a serious security / privacy risk.
That was no typo. I do have 47 addons, this includes Not a typo. I don't consider this a serious security / privacy risk.
