1) GUI Android: brightness on the icons is confusing (see pic attached), profiling should have same intensity as other icons (android dark mode), it "looks like" disabled bright should indicate enabled dim : disabled this is better than reading text, as you can see immediately what is enabled or not _________________________________________________________________ 2) geofencing Windows on android you have these country geofencing explained: eg colombia stands for cc: site ending with cc is colombian why not adding that to pc version, I have to check manually to unblock sites and countries _________________________________________________________________ 3) Forensics would you consider adding WPS office (and bandizip) to the forensic software list, they are very popular _________________________________________________________________ 4) IP blocking could you add possibility to add comments next to custom blocked ips, when you have more custom blocked ips it is easy to forget why you stopped them and what they represent, ip is difficult to picture, maybe I'll need to unblock the ip at some point, eg do updates? __________________________________________________________________ also I have a question does BF clears reading lists in chrome, I'd rather it didn't do that
Great ideas. The last point about Self Protect is part of 5.0 already. No date for launch yet as its still in flux feature wise.
@lucd We are about to launch and update for Android. Re 3. We will add these to our research for inclusion. 4. This is actually part of the Enterprise console already. We will look at the reading list question. It really depends on how Chrome handles that.
a small design mistake: install mode can be set in blackfog: 15, 30 minutes etc but there is no option to re-activate (deactivate install mode), what if somebody has finished installing earlier, 15 minutes can be a long unneccessary time
@Darren Williams for your information, I'm going to make a publicity stunt about Blackfog on some discord servers.. Don't be surprised if you get some new members soon..
@Darren Williams can you please fix zoom meeting and blackfog compatibility, blackfog blocks zoom communication direct ip : 93.184.220.29 which causes cert error in zoom, disabling blackfog enables zoom and no certificate error 93.184.220.29 should be Query OCSP responder servers to confirm the current validity of certificates,e.g. VeriSign and DigiCert.
@lucd we are looking into that. I think they started using some IP addresses that were a problem. It will be a simple rule update. Sent to dev today for review... @acid king Thanks for the kudos.
@Darren Williams , For some time now I've had BF on Android (now 11) and I often find it has stopped. I have already set BF to an 'Excluded app' in 'Memory usage' and as a 'Never sleeping app'. When I go to 'Device care' > 'Care report' I find BF has crashed 8 times since 1st of March this year, latest today. Any ideas?
I wonder what are those unknown application and unknown process connections also it appears to be a geo restricted country which is somewhat allowed to go past it despite geofencing sometimes it shows show PID and number instead of unknown I suspect it is from browser or else anything unknown is suspicious and should be stopped EDIT: these unknown seam to be legit application ips that are converted to unknown, at least it seams so
@Krusty are you running the latest version 4.5 which we just released as that improved a number of things internally and I run it everyday now and it seems pretty stable on A11. It seems that Google changed a number of API's in 11 and deprecated quite a few, so we follow recommendations quite closely to avoid any conflicts. @lucd Yes we are still investigating some of these so called legit IP's to work out an easy way to detect them.
@acid king: Yes its already available as an Enterprise customer and features keep getting added to it constantly as you will see throughout the year. It's really focused on MSP's and MSSP's who are managing thousands of endpoints and threats across them all.
@Darren Williams Thank you for reply Ok it is only for Business Edition. I understand it. Some new features for Personnal Edition on the roadmap ?! Best regards.
unknown connections can be due to virtual machines I can see there was a change in mobile, change of GUI to orangy icons etc, when PC version gets an update approx?
We have version 4.9 in the next week. Then the next release will be 5.0 late summer right now. 4.9 are some nice tweaks and a few little features we snuck in.
another problem with the programme if it does indeed stop something it will cause a system hang. For instance in the case that I already told you with UCHECK (now solved as far as UCHECK is concerned because you added it to whitelist), when it detected UCHEK in the previous versions it would cause a complete hang, potentially dangerous because the user tries to shut down programmes to get out of the hang while still connected to the INTERNET this is just an example, the hang can occur in other situations hopefully there will be an update as I am still on version 4.8.2
@lucd This is certainly not something we are doing, as all BlackFog is doing is preventing the transaction over the network so it will be up to the app in question. We have actually never seen this hang a machine on any customer before. I suspect it maybe the combination of apps you are running.
I understand , please update the product for Windows OS stationary consumer as soon as it can be done I am getting worried, I get the luck to buy product when it becomes abandoware
@lucd We update the product every 2 weeks actually, we do not have to update the binary, but rather the rules..... The core agent reads them and updates accordingly. In addition, the Enterprise console gets updated every week, sometimes daily.... so there is a lot of stuff going on that you probably don't even realize.
it just I can see no message on the product on windows of the rules being updated, on the android its different, I can see rules updates
