"The New York City subway authority was hacked in April... The attack was orchestrated by a hacking group that is believed to have ties to the Chinese government... Hackers were unable to gain access to the system that controls the train cars... But there was concern that the attack left behind a back door that would allow hackers to continue to infiltrate the Metropolitan Transit Authority’s (MTA) operational system, according to a document detailing the hack, which was obtained by The New York Times..." https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...berattack-new-york-subway-china-b1858492.html https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/02/nyregion/mta-cyber-attack.html?referringSource=articleShare
First time I hear of this, it was covered up very well. Another example of someone asleep at the wheel when it comes to the security of civilian infrastructure. I see the motormen, conductors and drivers all working, every day all day One then assumes everyone at the MTA is working. Bad assumption, it seems. And is anyone paying attention to the other attacks taking place on US soil? Oh, yeah, it only happens to the other guys, never to us because we're sacred and really nice people. Edit: Just heard on the local CBS news that "new layers" of security will be added to "prevent this from ever happening again."
lol! Well....um.....cof.....I'll just be moving along. No, just a mouthpiece. If I can't see it directly, it's dubious at best.

The attackers used the access to plant web shells on the VPN servers in MTA’s environment..." https://www.scmagazine.com/home/sec...-day-vulnerability-to-infiltrate-mta-systems/
