It's a basic imaging System, no more... and very reliable. Imaging speed pretty much the same as Reflect, restoration speed cannot come close. To my knowledge, only two current imaging Systems, Reflect & Image For Windows, use an indexed restoration System... basically allowing the user to only restore the differences between the image used for restoration and the disk contents being restored to... which greatly reduces the restoration time.

@mantra, where did you copy snapshot.exe/snapshot64.exe onto, exactly?

Note that the latest release (provided in post #1635) denotes May 6 as the version date on the opening window. Actually, the date should be May 27, as the files' properties indicate the modification date is May 27, 2021 (DS' devs are getting a little sloppy)! ...I'm sure we will see a correction out very shortly.

mantra, the PE is 64-bit so you should be using snapshot64.exe.

Download the setup.exe. Install the program. Make a UFD. Uninstall the program.

Used Sergei Strelec's awesome PE on a insertable USB Flash Drive, tethered the portable storage into the other slot, and once loaded (which is faster loading than any PE I ever had) then simply ran the DS64.exe (directly from the same external storage box) and it imaged the new system in 5 minutes. I attribute the rapid improvement of speed to the new computer which sports a M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State

It'll be interesting to see the results of a restore which over the years on my 8.1 was slower. However in the many years I have depended on DS even before and after Macrium Reflect, I never experienced not one single failure in or out with it. Amazing little program to have withstood the test of all that time from such a tiny program.
