Kinza - A Chromium Based Browser from Japan

I don't use bookmarks. I HTML-coded a web page so that it has all my favorite links, grouped together by categories. I use that as my Home Page for all browsers I use. ||| When I want privacy (rarely) Slimjet has an "incognito" option but I prefer to use TOR when I want privacy.

 

Do you never add any new bookmarks? What's cool with Vivaldi is that you can easily bookmarks all or only certain tabs. And when I talk about privacy, I talk about browsers like Slimjet and Kinza perhaps recording all sites you visit. In fact, I don't even trust Chrome and Opera when it comes to this.

 

@Rasheed187 -- Sure I add new bookmarks. Easy to do. As to Vivaldi -- I love his music (except for His "Browser in Eb minor" -- too adagissimo).

All chromium updates are betas. All chromium-based browsers generally lag 1 or 2 versions behind the latest chromium version. Even Google chrome does this.

So, Kinza is one version behind the STABLE (aka, the one 99% of people use) version. That's bad. And even then, it took em sometime JUST to update it to a version that's older than the current one. Bad.

 

I never commented on the stability oi chrome. Chrome and chromium are NOT the same. Please cease from trying to turn this simple Kinza update thread into a debate.

99% of all people, everywhere, are using the stable/90 version of WHAT -- chromium? Please provide a link to a valid source for that statistic so that we all may share in this information.

 

In my experience, using a browser based on a slightly old version of Chromium matters very little. I'm using Slimjet, which is based on Chromium 88 and I never get infected, or even encounter malware. I also never got infected when using browsers which were based on versions of Chromium, much older than Slimjet is.

 

Yeah that doesn't mean it's ok... You miss on bug fixes, features, performance optimizations, security fixes... As someone who uses almost-the-newest version of chromium (usually a few days behind the newest version of canary_asan at any given time) it is quite nice. Really, even using stable version is already bad enough for me, yet alone older...

 

Well I don't really miss out, as I get them in time. I don't dispute that it is better to running a more recent version. I just question if it is essential.

 

Definitely a +1. My experience too, and with any browser for that matter.

 

The best way to test that is to look at what vulnerability was patched in one version, then use an unpatched browser to test for that vulnerability. If no problem takes place, then there was no vulnerability at all, and thus no patches required.

 

Are you saying they are pulling vulnerabilities out of their *** just for the sake of it? Those are real vulnerabilities bro, ofc the unpatched browser will get affected...

 

I agree, but others still use older versions of browsers, which is why I wrote that the best way to prove that those are safe is test them against vulnerabilities that were patched with newer versions.
