Hi mantra. Glad it worked for you. I am using 5.33.6. The path I posted earlier is for Firefox 32 bits (the Firefox version I am using). I guess that is the version you are using or if you are using 64 bits, you figured you had to remove the (x86) part of the path. Anyway, the correct path for 64 bits Firefox is:

    "C:\Program Files\Sandboxie\Start.exe" /box:All "C:\Program Files \Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" https://www.wilderssecurity.com

This sandboxed shortcuts can also be created via UI, but if you create them that way, the non sandboxed web shortcuts have to saved and and not be moved in order for the sandboxed shortcuts to keep working. This is the cleaner and better way to create them.

    No, I am using old version 5.33.6. I haven't tested any of David's versions....yet. :)

Bo I can assure you that 5.49.5 works great.

Hi stapp. I'm still running 5.33.6 as well. Question: Will 5.49.5 install right over the top of 5.33.6 no problems? That is something I have always been able to count on for the last eleven years. :)

Very good. TY for the info. Not in a rush to upgrade, though.

PMFBI, it should, but I've not updated direct from 5.33.6 to 5.49.5. If something goes wrong, you can always uninstall but keep sandboxie.ini and then install 5.49.5 from scratch and it will pick up your settings. I'd backup sandboxie.ini first just in case, as you can then go back to 5.33.6 if necessary.

Bearing in mind what David says about security problems with 5.33.6, it should be time (to consider?) to move on. Personally, after being very hesitant, I've moved to Plus as that is where the future lies.

I welcome and appreciate the input, henryg1. Possible to point me at "what David says about security problems with 5.33.6"? If not, don't worry about it, maybe I will find it. TY

@ Bo, bjm and others, thank you for the tips. For now I've decided to let my Firefox setup be as it is. If it will be grinding my gears by not emptying upon closing Firefox too often, I'll probably do something about it then. A keyboard shortcut for Terminating (all) programs/sandboxes would be great. Sandboxie by itself doesn't feature hotkeys/keyboard shortcuts, right?

    Again, thank you!

You can create a shortcut to Terminate all programs with the path below, do it via Right clicking Desktop:

    "C:\Program Files\Sandboxie\Start.exe" /terminate_all

I have it right there in my Taskbar. After creating it, I move it to Taskbar:

    Sin título.jpg

If someone just wants to create a shortcut to terminate only the programs running in one sandbox, use the path below instead. In the example I am using a sandbox named Foxit, make sure to change the name of the sandbox:

    "C:\Program Files\Sandboxie\Start.exe" /box:Foxit /terminate

Bellzemos, this shortcuts are very useful. The one I use comes handy very often. If the shortcut is placed in the taskbar, you just click it once and is over.

Right on Bo, I forgot about the command line usage for Sandboxie!

I've made a shortcut that only termiantes the DefaultBox ("C:\Program Files\Sandboxie\Start.exe" /terminate), it works great. Takes just one click instead of two (+ moving the mouse in between) like the "Terminate All Programs" in the right-click menu of the SBIE Control does.

I've placed it in the Taskbar, but with the red X icon that's in the Start.exe. I just have to get used to it now.

    Thank you!

And of course you should be able to add keyboard shortcuts to the desktop shortcuts..

Update: I heard from Tom. He has been going thru a rough time, enduring medical difficulties and issues of other kind. He is also in the process of moving to a new home in a different state. When things get settled he'll start working on sandboxie again. How long is this process gonna take? I don't know. I didn't ask and to be honest, I am just glad that he is going to be OK. He told me that he is going to keep his cert for signing the sandboxie driver active and that there's a lot of work to do; he'll start by stabilizing the current version of windows and move on from there.

At this point who cares, why would anyone use anything made by a guy who could and will probably again just pick up and leave without a word or reason at a drop of a dime.

If he wants to contribute to Davids fork, fine, but if he plans to start his own fork, ROFL, good luck on gaining trust.

Thanks a lot for the update, bo elam. It clears up a mystery, that's for certain. If he's been following the progress of the DavidXanatos fork though, hopefully he'll understand that he has a pretty tough act to follow.

I certainly wish him well, with whatever he decides to do.

Rather harsh to say the least. The more people developing a Sandboxie the better IMO, and if there was a possibility of collaboration that could be good for both. Else, what happens if David finds continuing development too onerous?

Exactly, a very harsh and weird response. I knew it might have been health related, so I'm glad everything is OK with him now and let's hope he will help David with further development of Sandboxie. Thanks to Bo for this update.

That is good news for Tom, I'm glad he is OK and wish him well. And good news for us, Sandboxie users, wether he'll work together with David or alone on a separate fork - more people than 1 working on Sandboxie is a great thing. Thanks for the news, Bo.
