so called "Whitelist, ignore the rest"

Cookie Autodelete is not designed to work only "on specific sites", thats why it has options and a whitelist itself.

So you are saying that this is by design? But it doesn't make any sense because the browser should enforce these extensions to work only on certain sites. Seems like a design flaw in Chromium based browsers if you ask me. It's also ridiculous that extensions can't be blocked from auto-updating, this is a security risk.

That would make most extensions useless.
Think about an adblocker like uBlock Origin. How is it going to work if it had permission for specific sites only? You would have to add sites one by one for it to block ads on those particular sites. Same goes to Cookie Autodelete. One of the main feature of it is that it can remove cookies of all sites automatically/on demand.
Then think about a security extension like, Bitdefender TrafficLight. How is it going to protect users if it doesn't have the permission to work on all sites and only block the malicious ones!
So it's not a design flaw. The ability to give the users the option to make extensions work on all sites or some specific ones is a great feature. I think Firefox don't have this (Correct me if I'm wrong).

Yes, outrageous. It's back in the Store now. I used to use it, now I use Trace because it has other features. Extensions like ClearUrls are almost a must in my opinion, but I try to combine stuff whenever possible to reduce footprint.

Hi, @SeriousHoax. It's good to see you. :)

    Hi wat0114,

ClearURLs Remove tracking elements from URLs.
The Dandelion's list still new and I believe it is under development:

    https://github.com/DandelionSprout/adfilt/discussions/163

but I think it removes the tracking parameter.

Does this dandelion list fully replaces extensions like Wladimir Palant's Google search link fix?

I think not. That list remove parameters in most lines, not the google redirect as Palants tool. I also run "Remove Redirect" for all browser which work similar, not Google only. For google images i use this (violent)monkey script: "Google DWIMages" beside my own script against this crap preview - i always get the proper direct link to the image and a mouse over image viewer extension or script can show me the image behind as popup. nothing is based on ublock, makes no sense to link security with advantage. and yes, there exists other link shorteners and also other scripts, eg. "utm stripper". "utm" is the keyword for any kind of parameters.

I'm not sure what you mean. Certain extensions should be able to work only on a couple of sites, that's all I'm saying. Of course it doesn't make sense for uBlock Origin, but for example Video DownloadHelper and Cookie AutoDelete should be able to work just fine. I only need to download videos on certain sites and same goes for cleaning cookies. In theory it's a security risk to give ALL extensions access to browser data. But it's a matter of trust of course.

You can change that permission for your preferred extensions if you want.

Yes I know this, but like I said VideoDownloadHelper and Cookie AutoDelete will simply stop working if you configure them to work only on a couple of sites. So I don't know if I should blame these extensions or the browser itself. For example, I want VideoDownloadHelper only to work on Instagram, on other sites it has no use.

Only enable the extension just before you visit Instagram. And disable after you leave Instagram.
