It was "off" in Edge and Firefox, then I toggled it "on" because the test said my browser had a unique fingerprint. Then again, EFF's test also claimed I have 4 cores and 4 GB of RAM. (I have a random agent spoofer--prob. that makes me unique too). On or off, same test result for me. Toggled back to "off" and staying that way for now. :cautious:

Can't win with these things, can only try to.

@imdb Thanks I will need to go back in and make some changes. Yeah I saw the highlighted part. Brave shows I have a randomized fingerprint.
@The_King will look at this as well, thank you.
    @Victek Yes sir it is.

Is it? I am not overly concerned about it, but it is nice to have imho. Are there better tests?

All-in-one tests to verify privacy are always a disappointment.
Better to do many single tests.

    Understand.

@imdb The setting much have changed in about:config Did not see a way to set the value to 0. All I saw was true of false so I set it to false.

    Test now states nearly unique.

I'm getting the same as Trooper on Firefox, Chrome and Vivaldi.

Although with Safari (Big Sur) I'm only getting 'partial' protection.

So much for Safari's inbuilt anti-tracking capabilities and Ghostery Lite.

As long as nothing personal is revealed, there should be nothing to worry about. Tor could be used but then you'd be loading most content at a snail's pace. All you can really do I guess do is block 3rd-party content as much as possible.

There's no uBO for Safari, although I have it on Fx, Vivaldi and Chrome.

Hello Trooper. I personally don't care about this sort of test, but since you and I had a talk about NoScript a few days ago in another thread, I decided to run the test and see what comes out. All I had to do was allow one domain to run, for the test to work and get a result (Firefox).

That is cool. I just tried it but could not figure out what domain it was as the test would fail for me even letting in one domain at a time. I also use NextDNS so maybe that is blocking one of the domains as well.

Oops, I missed this first time around. Much more detailed but also more negative. Bottom line: I am observable. Too observable. Gotta tone it down some.

So, I'm actually going to take a look and see what I can mitigate b/c I got a lot of "medium" scores and my IP address was visible. :thumbd:

Thanks a lot for the link, imdb. Definitely an eye-opener.

I didn't have to trial and error, I just allowed eff.org. Remember this, with NoScript, you use logic, and logic tells you that the first step you should take for getting a new website to work is to allow the domain on top of the NoScript menu. As it happens often, that was enough. I am not familiar with NextDNS, perhaps disable the extension before running the test or see if there is a way to allow eff.org.

I think it is NextDNS that is blocking at least one of those tracker domains. Will have to try on another machine and let you know.

Different network with FF and NS. Only got partial protection. You probably have your Firefox more locked down than I do.

I tested again, this time for trying to reproduce what you got (the Partial protection result).

The only extension I use is NoScript. In Firefox Options I have Enhanced Tracking Protection set as Standard. I also have Firefox set to Always use private browsing mode. I dont do or change anything else in Options or about:config that deal with Privacy.

To get Partial protection, all I had to do was run the test using a normal Firefox Window (No Private window).

Also just for information, in NoScript all you have to allow in eff.org is fonts. You dont need to allow scripts or anything else for the test to work.

The details above should help you figure out what to do to get full protection from fingerprinting if that is what you wish and think is important.

    Bo
