This Chrome update also shows a Component update of Federated Learning of Cohorts to Version: 1.0.6.

What is Federated Learning of Cohorts (FLoC)?
FLoC enables ad selection without sharing the browsing behaviour of individual users.

I have been blocking third-party cookies for a long time. And with AdGuard, Decentraleyes and Privacy Possum on duty, I should be covered.

Sure it's been covered here before, so just a reminder...

    Remove
Search Tabs” Arrow Button from Title bar in Google Chrome

    1. Open Google Chrome web browser and type chrome://flags/ in addressbar and press Enter. ...
    2. Now type tab search in the “Search flags” box. ...
    3. To deactivate and disable Tab Search feature in Chrome, select Disabled from the drop-down box.

I did that a few days ago to disable search tabs. I wanted to get rid of that asap.

You can use direct links for flags, Page42.

    chrome://flags/#enable-tab-search

Just in case, you probably already knew that :p

You're welcome, imdb! I periodically reinstall Chrome over-the-top to kind of spruce things up, and I think (not sure) that doing so might have reset the disabled tab search and put it back to default. Usually reinstalling Chrome keeps all settings in place.
I don't think I knew that, yeL, and I'm pretty sure I will forget it even though you have pointed it out. Old minds evidently can only hold so much info. ;)

Along with Chrome 89 came the implementation of the new Google Chrome Reading List feature that allows users to save stuff they find worth reading for later or maybe just for archiving purposes.

This new "feature" seemed to suddenly appear on one of my machines (Google is rolling it out to users randomly) to the far right of Chrome’s bookmark bar

    According to the linked article,

Here is a way to hide it altogether:

    1. Enter chrome://flags/#read-list into the address bar and hit the Enter key.
    2. Select “Disabled” from the drop-down list next to the Reading List option.
    3. Restart Chrome.

Apparently Google will eventually take away this ability to disable the "feature" unless sufficient numbers of users complain.

The linked article shows a way to cast a vote on this in a poll.

[Updated] Looking to disable Google Chrome Reading list: Here’s how to remove it from Bookmarks bar

Per the BleepingComputer article, the zero-day cannot currently escape Chrome's sandbox, so it has to be chained to another vulnerability in order to work.
