I don't have it, nor do I want it. It seems to be just another way for them to up-sell programs or services.

It is being phase released so I suspect we'll all end up with it eventually.

This is the first time I have seen this pop up on Norton Safe Web Browser Extension for Firefox on Mac. I enabled the extension and got this:

If you "Decline" you get this:

I guess too many people were opting out of sharing telemetry and now they're forcing their hand.

Opting out of sharing telemetry has not changed - Norton Safe Web extension for Firefox on PC.
Accept presents the same "Share usage" opt in and the same "Thank you" prompt...for me.

    Caution:

I got this when trying to uninstall Norton 360 using Revo Uninstaller after this latest patch x 2 machines. Note the generic N360 icon.

You're probably better off uninstalling from Add/Remove Programs and then running the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool to remove all leftovers.

Roger, as you know, Revo runs the program's built in uninstaller first but in this case (x 2) the built in uninstaller would not run.

I used to uninstaill from Programs and Features, then run their uninstaller but I had issues with leftovers. Since then I've used Revo, then NRnR in Advanced Mode / Uninstall Only.

That's an issue you will face occasionally when using third party uninstallers. Does Revo find leftovers that Norton's removal tool misses?

In this case (x 2) I cancelled Revo after seeing the window as per the screenshot above. I wanted a clean as possible uninstallation.

Instead, I double-clicked an older installer I had in my Downloads folder thinking it would over-install the new version. That didn't happen. Instead it started the uninstall process which I went through with. After a system restart I ran the older installer again. Older N360 installed.

Still wanting a clean uninstall, I ran Revo again. This time the N360 built-in uninstaller ran. Before the recommended restart I scanned with Revo, removed what it found, then restarted.

After all that I ran NRnR.exe in Advanced Mode > Remove Only before restarting once again.

Kaspersky Security Cloud installed without issue after that... well except it wanted me to uninstall MB.

I saw that on another site. Interesting. I'm not sure what to think of it.

I think it's a bit silly. And BTW, I noticed that Norton is the only security AV company that advertises on Dutch TV. I wonder how many people decide to buy Norton360 based on these ads. They especially promote their VPN and password manager in the commercial.

miners/mining machines are working just a little bit above income, and those are high performance machines, in special the bunch of latest nvidia 3080 gpu (a matter why they are this expensive these days). need power, need cooling, cooling needs power.

BTW a matter of time I think that Avira will also start mining because it belongs to NortonLifeLock since dec'2020

That 15% fee is the cash cow and the survival card for Norton. They'll push this long term.

MD/WD should flag this, at what it is:

Why? It's something you have to manually enable.
