With 15/21 getting TOP rating, what's the purpose of this comparative?

 

Maybe they want to tell us that it doesn't matter what AV you use - they are all good.

 

Seriously, this test has become a joke, just close your eyes and pick and AV according to them if they are all top performers and VIPRE which in my experience is one of the lightest is noww the heaviest on their list after it was on the top contenders for years

 

With one caveat. They're all good based on the type of testing being performed by this AV lab.

 

That six of them didn't get TOP rating?

 

That apparently the few who don't get a top rating in AV-Test may actually do better in some real world scenarios....

 

Whatever testing methodology is used, it's a level playing field for all products. That's all that really matters in these controlled tests.

 

That they get paid through affiliate links? I thought that was obvious.

 

Of course one conclusion you can make is there is no need to pay for an AV when you can use one of the top-rated AV programs built into Windows10. This often makes a variety of vendors and their fellow-travelers nervous. They are already nervous i.e., the dramatic drop in prices for one year protection from many of them.
