I have Sandboxie 5.48.5 (64-bit) & Windows 10, version 2004. I can open a Sandboxed Explorer by right clicking the Sandboxie icon & choosing run Windows Explorer. However, it opens to "My PC". If I go directly to C:\Windows\explorer.exe, it opens to Quick Access, which is what I want.

However, if right click Sandboxie icon & choose "Run Any Program" & choose C:\Windows\explorer.exe, I get a message SBIE2224 Sandboxed program has crashed: Explorer.exe [DefaultBox].

Also, if I make desktop shortcut to explorer.exe, right click, & choose "Run Sandboxed", it also crashes with that message.

    1. How can I create a shortcut that will open a Sandboxed explorer?
    2. Can I make it open to Quick Access?

    Thank you in advance.

    1. On File Explorer, right click Quick Access then click on Pin to Start
    2. On Sandboxie, right click your sandbox to use then click on Create Shortcut
    3. Navigate through All Files and Folders > Drive C > Users > "Username" > Start Menu > Programs > Quick Access
    4. Done. Shortcut should be on Desktop now

Thank you for your quick reply & information. I'm still having some issues. Sorry for being so dense.
    1. I did step 1 (outside of Sandboxie). I should mention that I have Classic Start Menu. Nevertheless, I pinned Quick Access to the Start Menu.
    2. I started Sandboxie & created a shortcut to it on the desktop.
    3. When you say "Navigate through...", I'm assuming that that is by right clicking the Sandboxie control. However, when I do that, all I can see under Drive C is Windows. So I'm still confused. I've posted an image of what I see, so can you tell me where I'm going wrong. Thank you again.

Just noticed something else. I put a shortcut on the desktop to Quick Access. If I click it, it takes me to Quick Access. If I right click it & choose "Run Sandboxed", it opens a Sandboxed explorer, but opens to documents.

Sorry for not replying earlier, I saw your comment hours ago in the morning but don't have enough time to make a video to show how to.

Meantime let's see if this helps a bit.

On step 3, when you click Create Shortcut, a little window with a menu gives you options to create it, from memory I think you get
    Desktop
    Programs
    All Files and Folders
    Cancel

    Pick All Filles and Folders

Hi phrab. After you 1. create a new sandbox and call it File Explorer, and 2. Pin Quick access to Start menu. Do this:

Open Sandboxie control>Configure, Click Windows shell integration, Click Add shortcut icons, Select Sandbox you created and named File Explorer or Quick access if you prefer, when the menus (on the left side of the desktop) opens up, by the way this is a sandboxed copy of the real Start menu, in the menu (look at the picture), look for Quick access and click it. After you click on it, the sandboxed shortcut for Quick access will appear on the desktop. You can see it in the picture also, on the extreme, left side were is says Acceso rapido.

    PERFECT! Thank you very much!!
I notice that there is a delay in opening File Explorer, but not a problem. I can just keep it open all day & close it at night. I've named the sandbox BlockedAccess & blocked my Documents folder. Now I just need to change Chrome & Thunderbird from opening by default in my DefaultBox to my BlockedAccess sandbox. Or perhaps it would be easier to make my DefaultBox block access to documents & change BlockedAccess to AllowAccess.

    You are welcome.
I am not really sure what you are trying to do.

But here are some quickly suggestions:

Use The quick access/File Explorer sandbox for special purposes.
Keep Chrome and Thunderbird as you have them now, or better, create separate sandboxes for them.

Thanks again. You always have great advice. What I wanted to accomplish was to prevent any personal information in my Documents folder from being accessed unintentionally while I used Chrome or Thunderbird. Since they currently start, Forced, in my DefaultBox, I blocked access to the Documents folder in that sandbox. If I need to attach a file from there, I'll just copy it to my Desktop & attach it.

I made AllowAccess shortcut open File Explorer without restrictions. But I will make new sandboxes for Chrome & Thunderbird with restrictions. Thank you again.
