"Lost Passwords Lock Millionaires Out of Their Bitcoin Fortunes...

Stefan Thomas, a German-born programmer living in San Francisco, has two guesses left to figure out a password that is worth, as of this week, about $220 million.

The password will let him unlock a small hard drive, known as an IronKey, which contains the private keys to a digital wallet that holds 7,002 Bitcoin...

Of the existing 18.5 million Bitcoin, around 20 percent — currently worth around $140 billion — appear to be in lost or otherwise stranded wallets, according to the cryptocurrency data firm Chainalysis..."

"Police seize $60 million of bitcoin! Now, where's the password?

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - German prosecutors have confiscated more than 50 million euros ($60 million) worth of bitcoin from a fraudster. There's only one problem: they can't unlock the money because he won't give them the password.

The man was sentenced to jail and has since served his term, maintaining his silence throughout while police made repeated failed efforts to crack the code to access more than 1,700 bitcoin...

Prosecutors have ensured the man cannot access the largesse..."

Is there much difference between these 2 actions? I am actually asking as I am nor sure if it is the same for both of these parties to commit actions that would boost the price.

    @xxJackxx -- That's a good question.

There is nothing illegal in praising the value of an asset that one owns, notwithstanding how influential a person may be, particularly if that person has disclosed ownership of the asset.

Touting the value of a commodity or security that one owns with false and misleading info. is illegal.

This is what Elon Musk did:

    1. Bought, through Tesla Inc., $1.5 Bil bitcoin

    2. Disclosed the purchase of $1.5 Bil bitcoin and announced that Telsa would accept bitcoin as payment for Tesla vehicles

This is what John Mcafee did:

    1. Bought large amounts of cryptocurrency "X"

    2. Through his extensive social network touted the value of cryptocurrency "X" by issuing alleged FALSE and MISLEADING statements and without disclosing that he owned substantial amounts of cryptocurrency "X"

    3. Sold his holdings of cryptocurrency "X" after his alleged FALSE and MISLEADING statements had pumped up the price of cryptocurrency "X".

"Atari Says It's Launching a Crypto Casino Based on Its Old Games

Atari claims it will be launching an online casino in May. More specifically, an Ethereum blockchain casino built around “Atari-themed games.”

The Atari Casino will be based in “Vegas City,” a gaming district in Decentraland, Decentral Games’ metaverse. Or basically, a virtual world where you use an avatar to interact...

"Theoretically, gambling in crypto would...ensure that games aren’t rigged by the house. That’s because, per TechRadar, betting logic is stored on a blockchain..."
