The MVPS HOSTS file has not been updated since 15 Dec 2020
    See:
    https://mvpshostsnews.blogspot.com/
    https://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/mvps-hosts-file-update-15-dec-2020.435198/

I suppose all users know the severe health problems Mike is suffering from.
If you don't know, then look at:
    https://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

I'm now going to quote from there (and that is a quote from months ago):
@Corrine is trying to get in contact with Mike (winhelp2002).

From all of us to Mike: most heartfelt best wishes !!!

(and if all users could donate a little bit ...)

    Thank you @ky331 !

I'm going to post it in the Update Alerts forum here.

PS: I don't see it yet mentioned at Mike's blogspot but that is not so important.

I didn't even know that MVPS HOSTS File still exists. I thought it was abandoned long ago. Good to know it's still updated.

    @ky331 -- Many thanks! :thumb::thumb::thumb:
It had not been updated for quite a while due to the illness of its developer. However, I continued using it during all that time. On those rare occasions when an advertisement or *whatever nasty* reared its ugly head, I simply copied the nasty's url & added it to my HOSTS file, using HostsMan app.

==>I am delighted no end to see & install the update. I fervently hope the update signifies that Mike is moving at flank speed along the road back to good health.

I guess enabling MVPS HOSTS in uBo there's no need to edit hosts file in Windows, right?

No I did not pretend to disable it I was just asking something different but your answer helped me to realize (I already knew but my brain working slowly lately lol) hosts file covers the whole system.

@FanJ -- Thanks for the Donate link. I just did it.

Note to all: FanJ's link takes you to a big PayPal Donate button. That PayPal button doesn't do anything except move you down the page to a much smaller Donate button. That small button does the job. Click it and be happy that you did! :thumb::thumb::thumb:

It is many months ago that the MVPS HOSTS file was last updated.
I wished that I knew more but I don't. Maybe @Corrine knows more.
I am more than worried about Mike.
We all know about his health.
I can only hope and wish Mike all the very best !!

I am posting here simply to keep track of the thread. I do hope that Mike is alright. I too noticed it hasn't been updated and tomorrow marks 1 year since the last update. Hoping someone knows more.

From: Blocking Unwanted Connections with a Hosts File (mvps.org)

"Health Update ... things go from bad to worse ... slipped and fell in my kitchen and broke my leg (ankle) plates and screws to fix. Several weeks later ... with a walking boot on, I again slipped and fell. While I tried to break my fall ... instead I broke both arms. Imagine that!! A cast on my leg and a cast on both arms ... so as much as I hate to I think it's time to retire from maintaining my Hosts file ..."
