Can you say more about Internet connection? Is it Wifi? I find Firefox slower than other browsers on wireless networks with lot of network interference resulting in high percentage packet loss, so... I use crossover/Ethernet cable.

Both machine are connected via ethernet cable, no wifi involved. I have a Gigabit fiber line from Verizon.

I am ok with it launching slower than other browsers. But it is noticeably slower with the rendering of pages and scrolling when compared to Brave which is my default browser.

Chuck NoScript on and block some JavaScript.

I thought about that but then it breaks too many sites.

Yeah, but only until you train it. Once it's configured for the sites you commonly frequent it shouldn't be too much of a bother.

:thumb: If it doesn't help it is easy enough to remove.

I have to agree. It is too high maintenance to deal with. I like the idea of it and ran it for quite a while a few years ago but I just got tired of messing with it.

If I were you I would navigate to about:support and see what is set for HW_COMPOSITING, OPENGL_COMPOSITING, WEBRENDER then try to change things by about:config. If this will not improve performance then I would move on and use other browser. Just keep in mind Firefox on other hardware/driver combination owned by other people is not slow.
