I had hoped that someone had a solution to this for Simplewall.
Another thing with this extension is that one can not delete obsolete entries otherwise then manually.

I can not find how to contact the developer, somebody who knows how?

The suggestion by @aldist is your best bet. The developer (Henry) also has a personal website at HERE. There is a "Contacts" section listed on the left side of that site's home page, about 3/4 of the way down the page.

Please bear in mind -- the key word in "Simplewall" is "simple". By design, Simplewall is a fast, stable, feather-light, no-frills app that even my maiden Aunt Flossy can install & use without ever reading instructions. Even so, it is a VERY effective security app.

not sure if topic related, but if you ever think about installing zone alarm with this , all the firewall rules get bypassed by ZA, similar to spy shelter which is also bypassed by ZA

eset works fine with sw, so it depends on firewall

also this SW firewall is getting rule updates only, not programme updates anymore

If u check the github repo u will see files updated recently, mostly bug fixes. Yeah he's not focusing on active development in terms of new features. (whos gonna pay him to?) But I mean, its open source and its quite simple. U could fork it and mess around a bit, really the app is very simple it has like barely 15-20 files (in src folder) that do everything. I havent coded in C in any serious manner (I started learning it then switched to js), but it looks relatively simple to me if u know what does what.

    Hi

How do you Simplewall users stop the messages from windows about that the firewall is shut off after installing SW.

It's troublesome to see no new versions.

The dev just isnt focused on this (and might never be). Theres no paid version so cant blame him. That said, despite the many feature requests, the firewall works just fine. He fixes bug from time to time.

If it isn't broken, why fix it? Simplewall works just fine. The requests for changes are 99% for cosmetic things like a dark-themed GUI, special "nice-to-have" features, etc. These are the sorts of changes that will turn Simplewall into another bloated, do-everything app like Evorim.

Simplewall provides excellent security and is very VERY light on computer resources. I hope it stays that way.

they still update ip lists of blocked ips, last time I think 2 weeks ago, but you have to add them manually on each update

Check why it's crashing and post it here. Logs, event log etc.

there seems to be a relation between the crashes and antiivrus scans, like with the HItman pro ones.It s totally random though.Maybe the self proteciton module is not strong enough.3.1.2 was rock solid.

    1. Click the Start button, type Security & Maintenance and then click on the Security & Maintenance control panel option. You can also go directly to the control panel and get there that way.

    2. Choose Change Security and Maintenance settings.

    3. Uncheck Network Firewall
You may also need to use regedit.exe to add/change the following registry entries, if you are comfortable doing that. Create a system restore point or registry backup (I make a macruim incremental image) before messing with it is a good idea.

Add these to your Windows 10 Computer Policy / Preferences / Registry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender Security Center\Notifications

Value Name: DisableNotifications Value Data: REG_DWORD 1

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender Security Center\Notifications

Value Name: DisableNotifications Value Data: REG_DWORD 1

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++
First option left me with a warning on bootup, but seemed to cure it thereafter, unless I accessed the security settings. Did the Registry settings - the second one did not exist, so I added the new policies key & DWORD. note the value used to be zero to disable, is now 1, so try both at zero if one doesn't work. seems OK now, no notifications since last startup.

Oh boy, I haven't been that thrilled since well since I found the very piece of software, at long last some new features.

    We are so thankful!

That disables ALL security center notifications, not just firewall, I think. And there is no check for network firewall
