After updating to Firefox 85 (from 83) three days ago, I found about:downloads now displays a colored border when something has been downloaded.

I find the border distracting and would like to get rid of it. I dont remember if there was a border before but if there was one, it must of being a soft color and easy on the eyes and not rough like the one now. Does anyone know how to make it disappear? Thanks.

    Hello Bo,

I'm using v85.0.1 and I don't get a prominent border like the one you're seeing around the about:downloads page. Sorry I don't know how to disable it, if there is a way.

    EDIT

Bizarre. I went back to about:downloads again and now it appears, exactly like the one you're seeing o_O

While downloading, the border looks OK, but after going to another tab, when you come back to about:downloads, that's when the distracting border shows up. Thanks for checking it out.

"Firefox 'Total Cookie Protection' Tries to Block Even More Online Tracking

With Firefox 86, Mozilla prevents websites from sharing cookie files and profiling your internet browsing history.

In Firefox 86—which launched on Tuesday—Mozilla added a new feature called “Total Cookie Protection,” which is designed to confine cookies to the websites where they originated.

The company describes the feature as creating a digital cookie jar for each site Firefox loads up. 'Any time a website, or third-party content embedded in a website, deposits a cookie in your browser, that cookie is confined to the cookie jar assigned to that website, such that it is not allowed to be shared with any other website,' Mozilla wrote in a blog post..."

This looks pretty interesting, I hope other browsers like Vivaldi will also implement such a thing. I'm not sure if Brave already offers such protection.

They also removed the right click image info WTF, that was useful...

Also is anyone else that's on Firefox 87.0 now getting a file "UpdateLock-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" being created on opening Firefox and then deleted when closed? File in question is in your "C:\ProgramData\Mozilla" folder? This is new behavior that starts with 87.

I hope the option View Page Info is still there? Image info is in the Media tab of Page Info.
No Firefox 87.0 yet, on Kubuntu Focal.
