Are you sure about Bitwarden? I used it with no problems with Firefox and 5.33.6, but maybe the browser updates have changed things.

Hi Moose, FWIW, Internet Explorer in W10 works fine under Sandboxie 5.33.6. If you cant run it under Sandboxie, then perhaps you are using something that's conflicting with SBIE.

I am not familiar with Yandex, but since the browser is based on Chromium (I think), if it is, then doing the no sandbox workaround you ll get it working with SBIE.
You are having too many troubles.

    Smells like conflict.

Are you using Kaspersky?. If you are, it is likely that that's what is causing most of your SBIE problems.

    Bo

Internet Explorer work fine, and Yandex work fine ............
    When, I open in Sanboxie.......

    Computers bootup in 30 seconds.......
Run like a new PC everyday.........
The best that my PC's have work over the years.....

And everything else, work like a champ......

Only the Password Managers and Ad Blocker, Ultimate, have a problem, nothing else......

This only happen, I run in Sandboxie........

With out the extensions, no crashes......

Does anyone use PopPeeper and Sandboxie together? If so, what is your config for it? I'm geting constant OAuth2 errors with it sandboxes, but none with it not.

Yes, I use both. Specifically Chrome 87x (internal sandbox disabled) with Win 10 latest and PopPeeper 4.5.2, SBIE 5.33.6

About 5-10% of the time, PP crashes after opening mail, and I have to restart it. Annoying but not deadly.

I've looked over all the settings and I can't find any that I can change though.

AT&T made us all either get OAuth or a special email key in order for it to work, and I got the key so I don't use OAuth.

Maybe look in SBIE for setting for Oauth, maybe an permission or elevation issue?

Oh, good call! Maybe it is a permissions issue. I do have dropped rights on the box. I'll test it.

    edit -

That didn't do anything. As soon as a started a sandboxed PopPeeper I got the below error

Weird, after a few weeks I once again see InputPersonalization.exe running, just like dlhost.exe, but I have no idea what's triggering this. I did notice that InputPersonalization.exe is related to Cortana at least on Win 10. I will block it via EXE Radar and let's see what happens.

This thread needs to get locked or deleted or have the name changed to say it's a dead project, or that it's for Sophie's version and below only, to stop these needless/pointless bumps about david's fork.

Does anyone know - is Google planning a fix at some point for Chrome with the latest Sophos released 5.33.6 SBIE ?

I think I saw something that said they would not fix the release that caused the issue but no indication if future releases would fix it. We've had more than a few updates since the version that crashed it.

Since the cause of the issue is more than likely nothing that's wrong with Chromium itself, we shouldn't expect Chrome to fix something that to them is not really a problem in Chrome.

FWIW. I don't have Chrome but the workaround opens latest Edge without issue, and the browser works well afterward. Also, 5.33.6 is working just fine in W10 19042.746.

Why don't you simply upgrade to the newest Sandboxie Classic version?

I know - I should do it really.

Where are the latest versions, and what are the instructions once again (sorry)? Do I need to uninstall 5.33.6 first?

    Yes. :D

The latest version for Classic is 5.47.1 (respectively for Plus 0.6.7):
    https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/releases/tag/0.6.7

You can try to install over 5.33.6. If installation fails, choose the option to uninstall it (and to keep the ini-file if you want to retain your old settings).*

    *) Edit:
Or to be sure: Make it in the way described in the link given by deugniet in the next posting.

    thanks guys, one last question.

I see a 32 bit and a 64 bit version. I have a 64B system but would the 32 bit be more compatible with older programs, and would be the better choice to install?

ETA: went with the 64-bit, installed easy, some odd issues.

I get SBIE 2337 all the time (could not start program) no idea what program it refers to.

I hid it, no issues after. SBIE control icon did not show up after reboot, I checked the shell integration settings they looked right. I shows in the startup folder so maybe I'll reboot again. Chrome works without the -no -sandbox switch so YAY.

ETA2: flawless function, no more errors, just needed a reboot I guess.

Yes, the newest Sandboxie Classic versions work just fine, David is doing a great job. Sandboxie Plus is interesting but not mature enough yet in my opinion.

Why not use it as a thread about Sandboxie Classic? From what I understood David and Tom would have worked together on this project.

FWIW and with much hesitation I have switched to Plus, and it seems to work well. TBH I use it as if it were Classic, but it is the future and so I decided to stop using Classic.

I use Classic on one machine and Plus on another so I can test them.
I have no problem with either of them.

Please stop using this thread if it's not to talk about last Sophos release.

Why? The Sophos release is already dead. In my view, this thread is about Sandboxie Classic released by Xanasoft since Tom decided to quit this project, for whatever reason. BTW, I hope everything is OK with him because I believe he did have serious plans to stay involved with the development of Sandboxie.

That's what I suggested but JRViejo decided it was better idea to keep it open and let Sophos users to ask questions here.

For me that's ilogic because this is Tom's fork thread, but I'm not moderator and he's.
