Newer versions include bug fixes and often find more leftovers. Since finding more leftovers is a good thing, I don't know why you'd disable updating. When HiBit finds an update, it shows the change log, not just for the newest version, but for every version release since the version you are currently using, which is nice. You can see what exactly has changed and choose whether to update or not, although it makes sense to let it install the update. I never said I needed the extra features. I use it because it finds more leftovers than other uninstallers do. Aside from that, if I ever find bugs or suggest new features, the developer is very quick to release a new version with the bug fixes or new features. Having said that, I do use the installation monitoring, so that it has a record of every file and registry key that needs to be deleted, after uninstalling an app.

To clarify, I like to be in full control and only update software when there is a good reason. But I get your point and I have checked out HiBit Uninstaller last year and I didn't really like it, Geek Uninstaller looks more smooth. And I'm not too worried about leftovers.

Amen to that. Same boat. Its openly and immediately apparent when a software of any sorts, and HiBit, stall out very much longer then the smooth uninstallers that I find quite up to that simple routine task. Prolonged hesitations in any program will always cause user's to question it.

HiBit is excellent. It does a very good job of finding leftovers, is updated very regularly and the developer provides excellent support. In my opinion, it is the best uninstaller other than Total Uninstall.

On my main system I am using Total Uninstall. But on others I use HiBit.

Let me add a vote to Hibit as well.. the latest versions are faster and go deeper than registered Revo in my tests.

I have tested dozens of them and so far the best is hibits uninstaller. It cleans traces very well over others and is free and simple and it has other options and even virus-total checking options. Been a fan of of it for over a year now.

    @mood,

Just wondering, if I install IObit uninstaller, and receive un-wanted additional programs. You may also get to see promotional ads.
What are you using to stop the above.......
Or is this only with the free version, not the Pro?

    Kind regards,

While it comes bundled with extra software, you have to manually choose whether to install the extra software or not. Nothing extra gets installed unless you choose to let it install it. If you are using the free version, occasionally it will scan for issues with your system and then show a popup showing the amount of issues it found, which can be fixed with Advanced SystemCare.[/QUOTE]

    Thank you for explaining.......

So,do you have more than one uninstaller, install on your PC?
For example, HiBit and IObit or Total Uninstall? Each one is a little
    different?
And how often are they updated?

    Again, thank you for explaining....

On my main computer I use Total Uninstall and very occasionally also use the portable version of HiBit. I monitor the installation of just about everything I install, with Total Uninstall. In the rare cases I forgot to monitor something I use HiBit to uninstall it and scan for leftovers. On my test system, on which I have many Windows partitions, I have IObit Uninstaller Pro and HiBit install on each partition. I monitor installs with HiBit. When I uninstall software, for installs that IObit was able to automatically monitor I use it, for others I use HiBit.

HiBit receives very regular updates, IObit is not updated quite as often, and TU receives occasional updates.

I also use HiBit StartUp Manager. Very handy tool to monitor several registry startup entries, task scheduler entries, service entries and even context menu entries. You can also delay startup programs if you want to. It does have Virustotal scanner too.

It's worth running the default repairs in Windows Repair from tweaking.com, to see if that helps.
