Hi, Thanks for trying WVSX. There is a conflict with AVG. Please refer to the "FAQ" on our official website. WVSX already has multiple-layered protection to keep users from ransomware, so it's unnecessary to use other ransomware protection together.
Thank you all who answering me , AVG was the problem , i switched to Kaspersky and everything is ok now.
Sometimes it just happens where another security program bumps up against another. Glad you got it resolved by switching to a more compatible choice.
Hello, I've installed WiseVector Stop-X 2.72 but in Windows 10 event log i get the following error multiple times: Code Integrity determined that a process (\Device\HarddiskVolume12\Program Files\Vivaldi\Application\vivaldi.exe) attempted to load \Device\HarddiskVolume12\Program Files (x86)\WiseVector\WiseVectorHelperOne_X64.dll that did not meet the Microsoft signing level requirements. FileNameLength = 83 FileNameBuffer = \Device\HarddiskVolume12\Program Files (x86)\WiseVector\WiseVectorHelperOne_X64.dll ProcessNameLength = 70 ProcessNameBuffer = \Device\HarddiskVolume12\Program Files\Vivaldi\Application\vivaldi.exe RequestedPolicy = 8 ValidatedPolicy = 1 Status = 3221226536 The same thing occurs with Brave Browser but not with Microsoft Edge. My OS is Windows 10 Home (64-bit) Version 2004 Build 19041.746 Best regards
I had not used Shadow Defender in over 4 months on the machine that I tested WiseVector on. I made the mistake of not seeing if Shadow Defender was working properly before installing WiseVector. I was able to go into Shadow Mode ok after installing WiseVector, but there is a big delay when rebooting in Shadow Mode. I actually got a black screen for a while when rebooting, and it appeared like Windows had hung but Windows booted successfully with a big delay. The boot time seemed to have doubled, and once the desktop loaded it took a long time for the tray icons to load in the toolbar. I don't know if it is WiseVector has anything to do with this since I forgot to check to see if Shadow Defender was working ok before installing WiseVector. Windows has made changes to the OS that caused problems for Shadow Defender in the past. One major issue was the Fast Startup feature under the Power Settings that Windows added. If you have Fast Startup enabled in Windows then Shadow Defender may experience major problems. The developer has informed users to disabled Fast Startup.Do you know if Fast Startup was enabled when you was experiencing the problem?
Hi @ Cutting_Edgetech Thanks for that. I don't have a any problems now as I explained in my previous posts. Reboots out of Shadow mode are are as normal, by that I mean not extended in any way. The only problem was not being able to enter into Shadow mode. BTW, Fast Startup was and is still turned off on my Desktop. I don't suppose I will ever know the true cause. Terry
I know what your are going to say, ofc I put every slider to the maximum, for "maximum security" I installed wisevector on my parents' pc, its the older version that doesn't update itself to the latest version, is the old version somewhat "lacky" or less secure? I dunno if I have to drive there and re-install stuff for them
With the highest protection level, you can get "maximum security", but there might be more FP. Please refer to our website FAQ to know more. The version you installed on your parents' PC is V2.67? The latest version is V2.72. Here is our update log. We added ransomware rollback in V2.70. V2.67 will update automatically to V2.72 in two weeks.
Hi, Please try this way: go to Advanced Detection Settings of WVSX->click Exclusions->add "vivaldi.exe". Keep me posted if the error appear again or not. Thanks!
Hi, I did what you suggested and i didn't get anymore the code integrity error. It's weird that this occurred only with Brave and Vivaldi browsers but not with Microsoft Edge browser, anyway your hint solved the problem. Thank you very much Best regards
A new test here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBxUux5AYl0&feature=emb_title Too bad they didn't show the settings tho.
We have some explanations here: https://malwaretips.com/threads/wisevector-free-ai-driven-security.87965/page-69#post-926990
OK so it's true that WVSX is mostly focused on blocking the newest malware samples? In this case, it's indeed best to combine it with a good quality AV, like Win Defender for example.
Great explanation of the situation. In my point of view you shouldn't change the strategy then. Zero-day detection and prevention of most mitre att&cks is impressive.
@WiseVector can you please check your PM when you have some free time. I reported some issues with WiseVector StopX that you could take a look and fix if possible in on of the next builds. Thanks!
