OSA should have self defence enabled.

    How did SAS "destroy" OSA?

Ah, OK. False Positive. Maybe submit it to SAS.

Would be interesting if you listed your setup for each computer individually.

Why do you need/use 5 machines? I used to run two fast laptops for a couple of years but in the end I found it confusing, nowadays I have one machine and four high capacity USB drives...

It makes sense, my son and my daughter don't allow me to supervise their computers, and they both run Windows defaults. I'm often curious as to why some people have 2-3 personal machines without running a business...

My son is 24 and my daughter 12, they are very touchy about their own privacy, and any attempt to check their computer for security is seen as a patronizing attitude from me. I don't mind, I can understand their feelings, and I must admit they never complained about a virus or Windows malfunctioning. That's why I think the whole malware scare is some times only FUD to get people to buy security programs. Now, I'm not indirectly criticizing people who are well protected, as the saying goes, better safe than sorry...

Looks like you gave up Comodo Firewall? Any specific reason why? Just curious. Nice simple setup btw. Did you buy OSArmor?

    Haha...I knew you'd ask :D

Well, no specific reason really, but a few as follows:

    1. I don't like the firewall; it's too cumbersome to set up rules in it
    2. I don't like that new rules only apply to the application's specific path, and not to the current, customized rule with wildcards
    3. Some mostly minor yet buggy behaviour. There was a former member here, now named as "guest" who had mentioned it will sometimes delete a long list of HIPS rules. That happened to me once with the latest Patch Tuesday updates, and I had to recover a backup. At least it didn't weaken the security - quite the opposite; I endured a barrage of pop-ups.
Other than that, from everything I've seen over the past 6 months it provides incredibly powerful protection against malware. I just wanted to settle for something lighter with less user interaction.

Of course I would ask :D Wildcards with firewall rules and deleting long list HIPS rules have been issues with Comodo that they seem to ignore and refuse to fix. I have had Comodo delete HIPS rules on me when I used to use Paranoid, I have had more success with Safe mode. I agree the lighter approach. I think I will be changing my setup again soon.

    Hi,
have you also added custom rules for example for blocking Finger.exe?
Or do you prefer to block Finger.exe through the firewall?

    Th.
    :)

I have two physical laptops, older Dell XPS (Win 10 Home i5-8250U) and newer ThinkBook (Win 10 Pro i7-10510U). Renew either when the oldest packs up.
One has 2 Win instances, the other 3 - booted via TefaByte BootIt-UEFI - all different combos but Data partition sync'd via SyncThing. Docs, pics on OneDrive (Microsoft 365).
    All just 'for fun'.
Maybe I'm just more than a a double-up guy! :argh: All imaged with both Macrium Reflect and TeraByte Image for Windows.

Do you run different OS's from each USB drive?
