Newest addition. I was getting sick and tired of unwanted and unexpected registry key value changes so I came up with this:

    https://i.ibb.co/X8s190B/rguard.png

When it detects a registry key valuechange it displays notification to the user. The key value change is immediately undone. It makes sure the values you want stay persistent no matter what. It monitors all the keys in the list (grid left side) in real-time. On the right side you can see the built-in registry viewer where you can easily select the key you want to monitor.

The "Registry Toolbox" tab is full of tools related to the Windows Registry (registry policy (*.pol) parser, 'Win32_RegistryAction' parser, registry backup features, etc.)

In "Preferences" tab you can select skin (dark themes, office themes etc)

I discovered that it also works as a 'services' monitor as well. By using HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services you can control the REG_DWORD value for "Start". For example: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DiagTrack -> Start set to 4 makes sure that DiagTrack service stays disabled.

Or if you're using a system proxy you can monitor the value and make sure that the proxy ip values stays persistent.
The possibilites are endless if you know your way around the Windows Registry.

WIP. Written in C#. Tested on Windows 10 Enterprise + Windows 10 pro so far. Low resource usage on my system/setup.

I'm looking to release it for free- open source, sometime in the future if there's any interest?
    Thanks.

My setup mostly follows my proposed free setup at Gizmo's freeware:
    https://www.techsupportalert.com/content/free-windows-desktop-software-security-list-my-choices.htm
    • LUA (i.e. user without admin rights)
    • Microsoft Defender + Configure Defender set "high"
    • Malwarebytes paid (mainly because I have a lifetime license, might give some zero-day protection)
    • WiseVector StopX (Let's see how long this is free)
    • Chrome + Bitdefencer Trafficlight + AdGuard AdBlocker free + uBlock Origin (medium mode) + Microsoft Defender Browser Protection + MBAM Browser Guard + LastPass
    • HitmanPro free (automatic scan during startup)
    • VoodooShield free
    • Simple Windows Hardening
    • Winpatrol paid (it still seems to work, I'm not sure how long)
    • SUMo+Patch My PC+uCheck

They plan to release a paid version with extra features while still offering a free version.

Do you need that many extensions?
Because you are already running Malwarebytes paid I would stick to uBlock Origin (medium mode) and MBAM Browser Guard.
If not: uBlock Origin (medium mode) + Bitdefender Trafficlight
One adblocker and one security extension should be enough.
Do you use a password manager?

I doubt I need that many :) On the other hand, I haven't experienced too much lag due to them. With the given setup probably first one to drop should be Bitdefender Trafficlight.

I have LastPass. (I added it to my post)

P.S. You have Kaspersky Security Cloud Free EU version. What is EU-version?

Yes, I'm quite surprised by Win Defender, you don't even notice that it's there. SS Firewall is still just as good as always, just like Sandboxie. But I have disabled the firewall in SS, I prefer to use TinyWall. And OSArmor should protect against more advanced malware, if AV somehow fails.

If you go to global site you can choose to download the global, for some other countries or the European Union version.
The EU version must comply with the GDPR.
In that version you can for example refuse the marketing agreement while keeping the Kaspersky network and that way get less advertising and fewer personal data is collected.

You have a lot of real time protection there that may cause issues down the road. I would ditch Winpatrol and 3 of either Malwarebytes, WiseVector, VS and SWH. Basically all you need to be well protected is Configure Defender and SWH. And way too many extensions as well. All you need is uBlock and one of Trafficlight, Microsoft or MBAM. Simple is better, less issues, better performance.

Thank you for your comments. There is obviously overkill, but at this forum this is hardly unique :)
So far I haven't experienced any problems. The PC is responsive and I don't see slow up of Chrome.

Winpatrol could definitely be ditched. It is mainly for informative purposes. There is also some nostalgy here.

SWH is not a resident program. It just configures Windows build-in features.

P.S. My suggested free setup is (add as many as you like - from top to bottom):
    https://www.techsupportalert.com/content/free-windows-desktop-software-security-list-my-choices.htm
    • LUA
    • Microsoft Defender + Configure Defender set "high"
    • Chrome + Bitdefencer Trafficlight + AdGuard AdBlocker + uBlock Origin (medium mode) + Microsoft Defender Browser Protection + LastPass
    • HitmanPro (automatic scan during startup)
    • SUMo/Patch My PC/uCheck
    • Simple Windows Hardening
    • VoodooShield
Here there is less overkill. One could drop Bitdefencer Trafficlight but I like it because it shows link ratings with Google searches. AdGuard, uBlock and MDBP don't overlap much. Or do they? How? Any other comments?

Hi ako! Since you asked, "Any other comments?", I'll submit that I never let the fact that I have a paid lifetime license determine whether a security software is entitled to an extended ride on my computers, if there is no other compelling reason for keeping it onboard.

I may be in the minority here, but my belief is that once I have discovered that the program is either redundant, ineffective, overkill, unstable or anything other than it was on the day i purchased it, I don't allow it to stick around "because I have a lifetime license".

Often, nothing is really "wrong" with the program, but something else does a better job, or the same job. I have a few lifetime licenses for Malwarebytes, and I like the program, but it isn't needed on my machines, so I keep it uninstalled.

Besides Malwarebytes, there's KeyScrambler, SAS, WinPatrol and others I can't think of at the moment. To me, it is like allowing past economics to dictate present policy.

    YMMV! ;)

    Indeed :)

MBAM is not that bad. There is a rumour that last summer it stopped a malware in a museum in Sunnyside, Utah.

Winpatrol is my precious. So many years with it have etched it to my mind like the One Ring.

I have also a lifetime license for SAS, but there is a limit to my madness.

P.S. How about the free setup I suggest?

Bitdefencer Trafficlight / Microsoft Defender Browser Protection - choose one
AdGuard AdBlocker / uBlock Origin (medium mode) - choose one
Simple Windows Hardening / VoodooShield - choose one

    Bonus
MBAM / WiseVector StopX - choose one
is Winpatrol still supported or getting updates even?

I know you said it's light and all but at some point you'll face some incompatibilities and annoyances with those redundant softwares

Why? SWH is not a resident program. It just configures Windows build-in features.

    >Bonus MBAM / WiseVector StopX - choose one
WiseVector needs manual startup in LUA, but MBAM is not very good. So difficult to decide.....

    >is Winpatrol still supported or getting updates even?
Obviously not. The company first hibernated and then died more than three years ago.

P.S. How about the free setup I suggest?

Looks interesting. I used Novirusthanks Registry Guard and MJ Registry Watcher in the past but would like to test this as well.
