I'll send you a PM, thanks for looking into it, there's only two versions 5.45.1 and 5.45.2 that were in between 5.45.0, correct?

Went back on version to 5.45.1 and the issue was there, went back to 5.45.0, and all is good again, so the issue started with 5.45.1.

There are a number of posts telling how to get SBIE to work with current versions of Chrome. They say to Add --no-sandbox -test-type after Chrome.exe in the shortcut. I'm concerned that --no-sandbox will turn off sandboxing, rendering SBIE useless. What effect does that parameter have on sandbox protection?

wrong conclusion? that switch is only for chromium based builds and its internal sandboxing behavior with windows features, they dont concern sandboxie.

    Hello David,
I wish you a Happy New Year, and thanks a lot for your efforts regarding Sandboxie!
My wish for 2021ff is as follows:
I would extremely appreciate your adding checksums to all your sandboxie downloads! Deal?

When I looked at the downloads earlier I saw two downloads for x64: 0.5.2 and 5.45.1. Which do I get if I want the latest version?

Also I now can't find the download links. The URL above shows the changes but does not have links.

There are two x64 downloads: Sandboxie Plus 0.5.3 and Sandboxie Install 5.45.2. The first one is considerably larger than the second one. What's the difference? Which should I install? Does it matter that this version is pre-release?

I've noticed a bug during in 5.45 & 5.45.1 of the regular sandboxie non-plus version.

Using Firefox 84 (but happened on previous versions as well) in which the sandboxie seems to forget my pre-saved login details/login cookies to sites on occasion. No idea why. Only happens once a sandboxed web browser is launched. Issue occurs only on youtube & twitter only it.

The weird thing is, when I open the regular browser and go to either site, I can be logged in just fine. It often requires me to close sandboxie, wait for the sandbox to be emptied and once I've visited one or both of the sites (For which I want to be logged into) then I can see myself being logged in on the sandboxed browser.

Tried cleaning all files from the browsers memory, reinstall sandboxie etc but neither of those seems to fix the issue.

The 0.5.3a is the new Plus version (sort of an upmarket, new innards version, with extra bits )
The 5.45.2 version is the classic sandboxie that you will understand from your previous use.
Both versions are working without issues for me ( on different machines of course)

Since the Open Sourcing sandboxie is being released in two flavors the classical build with a MFC based UI and as plus build that incorporates new features and an entirely new Q’t based UI. All newly added features target the plus branch but often can be utilized in the classical edition by manually editing the sandboxie.ini file.

    Source: https://xanasoft.com/sandboxie-plus/

Classical is like the old Sophos build version 5.33.6 and Plus is with new features.

I need your help to test something could you all please try what happens when you add

    ClosedIpcPath=\RPC Control\LSARPC_ENDPOINT

to your sandboxes does this break anything for you?

Because if there are no issues I would close this path by default in the next build.

It may fix some issues, btw the latest final build does not include that yet, so keep it in and report back if it results in any issues

Thanks a lot for all your efforts for keeping Sandboxie alive!

Could you just always check your releases with VirusTotal, please?
For the 64 bit version 5.45.2 there are currently 2 detections on VirusTotal. With version 5.45.0, there was no detection at all.

Could you check that, please? Thanks and best regards!

    @DavidXanatos
Decided to do another fresh start with Plus 0.5.3b that you just released.
    Uninstalled 0.5.3a, and rebooted.
Had to then delete C\Sandbox as an uninstall doesn't remove it.
Program Files didn't show any instance of Plus.
Went to users, appdata local etc to delete Sandboxie-Plus folder containing ini file.

Installed new build and my .ini settings were picked up o_O
Uninstalled again and had another look around and seen that the ini file was listed in recent files (quick access)
Used CCleaner to cleasn recent files and everything was now gone (or so I thought)

Installed new build again and my .ini settings were picked up.o_O

Do the .ini settings hide anywhere else?

    There should be
    C:\Windows\Sandboxie.ini
    and
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Sandboxie-Plus\Sandboxie-Plus.ini
the later is of cause one per user

Happy new year all and thank you DavidXanatos for continuing Sandboxie.

stapp - I also have a lot of those letter AAA's (among others) in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Sandboxie-Plus\Sandboxie-Plus.ini

David - Where do you want me to add ClosedIpcPath=\RPC Control\LSARPC_ENDPOINT
Does is go in C:\Windows\Sandboxie.ini or the Sandboxie Options somewhere (I've noticed an Edit ini Section).
Sorry for my lack of technical know how.

While I'm here could you please tell me if I am doing something wrong with file recovery.
When I try to recover a file that already exists (updating a spreadsheet for example), I just get a failed to recover message.
There doesn't seem to be an option to overwrite the file with the new version.

    Thanks again and great work.
